1. Is Rihanna the new Princess Diana? UK Magazine The Sunday Times certainly thinks so. Writer Camille Paglia argues in the mag that not since Diana has a celebrity had such a love affair with the world press; alternatively capitalising on the power that her position provides, or being hounded by the press.
From The Sunday Times:
Rihanna is in love with the camera, and the camera is in love with her. Not since Diana rocketed from a shy, plump kindergarten aide to a lean, mean fashion machine has there been such a ravishingly seductive flirtation with the world press.
Like Diana, Rihanna has worryingly drifted into using photo ops to send messages of allure, defiance, or revenge in a turbulent relationship with an errant partner. Rihanna, another victim of a festering romantic triangle, has bounced dizzyingly back and forth in her checkered affair with rapper Chris Brown, who was convicted of a felony in 2009 for abusing her.
Rihanna’s relationship with Instagram has certainly been well-documented by, well, herself. From early photos hinting that her relationship with Chris Brown was being rekindled, to snaps from life on tour, she has opened her private life up to the public. Proving the The Sunday Times‘ point, Rihanna instagrammed photos of the magazine’s cover as soon as she acquired a copy.

3. Hugh Grant has become a father again. After welcoming daughter Tabitha into the world in 2011, Grant, 52, became a dad for the second time on December 29 – although the baby wasn’t registered until Valentine’s Day.
Grant and his partner, Tinglan Hong, 33, have reportedly named their new bub Felix Chang. Naturally, Grant communicated the news directly to the public via Twitter.
He followed it up with a tongue-in-cheek comment…
Despite their two children, Grat and Hong are not married. In fact, it’s not even clear if they are a couple. After the birth of Tabitha in 2011, Grant’s publicist released a statement which read:
I can confirm that Hugh Grant is the delighted father of a baby girl.
He and the mother had a fleeting affair and, while this was not planned, Hugh could not be happier or more supportive.
He and the mother have discussed everything and are on very friendly terms.
This time around, a spokesperson for Grant has said that they had no further comment to make. While not a couple, Grant and Hong clearly have a strong partnership.
Last April, Grant spoke to Ellen DeGeneres about the “life-changing” effect of having children. “Everyone was right all these years, saying: ‘Hugh, why don’t you have some children? It changes your life.’ Now that I have a child, it is life-changing. I recommend it. Get some.” Who wouldn’t take advice from the Prime Minister in Love Actually?

5. Fox News have committed a hilarious faux pas. More hilarious than mispronouncing faux as Fox, in fact. In an essay defending traditional, heterosexual marriages titled ‘To be happy, we must admit women and men aren’t ‘equal’’, the news site illustrated the story with a picture of a couple of their wedding day…
Except the picture was actually of a same-sex couple. Snap.
The image has quickly gone viral, inspiring many memes mocking the conservative American news site.
Thanks for the endorsement of gay marriage, Fox.
7. Oh Keira Knightley, you saucy minx. You did WHAT with a bottle of perfume? The actress’ latest Chanel ad has been deemed too sexy for children – and banned in the UK.
For the latest Coco Mademoiselle commercial, Knightley sprays herself with the fragrance… before she heads to a photoshoot, where she strips down and shares some, ahem, intimate moments with the photographer – with a twist.
It doesn’t sound too outrageous – it’s more unusual to find a perfume commercial where models and celebrities are actually
clothed nowadays – but the target audience for such an advertisement certainly isn’t kids out to enjoy the latest G-rated animated flick. A complaint was filed after an ad for the perfume ran during the trailer for Ice Age 2 – and so the commercial has been banned from running during children’s programming.
What do you think? Too saucy for kids? Or would you be pleased to have your kids watch an advertisement promoting road safety (note: Knightley’s stylish helmet as she zooms about town on her scooter)?

I just wish Coco Madamoiselle worked like that for me... *sigh* ;-)
I find it concerning that Rihanna believes her own hype (or at least seems to...). The journalist who wrote the story and various editors who approved it must have known it was a controversial statement and would therefore sell papers. Newspapers are in the business of selling newspapers. When they write about celebrities, they're not really focussed on reflecting the truth.
