"Didn't think I'd get teary." Celebs share the love on their kids' first week of school.

It’s been a week of first-day nerves for children and parents alike.

Little ones grasping at fingers, teary in their shiny new uniforms. Or maybe more confident, ready to roll and excited to be “all grown up”.

However it went down, these Aussie icons have felt the love and the pride and the touch-of-pain that comes with sending children off to school for the first time.

Singer songwriter Guy Sebastian admitted he got a little teary when his four-year-old son Hudson James went off to school.

“I can’t believe this tiny little angel started school today,” he posted to Instagram. “A small chapter over and a whole new one has begun I may or may not have sprung a little leak. Go Hudson James!”

Sebastian’s wife, Jules, also posted to Instagram. Like so many mothers and fathers this week, she’s wondering where the time has gone.

“Success! Our little angel took to his first day of school like a champ today. So proud,” she said. “I know everyone says it, but where do those years go?”

No tears for television presenter David Campbell. Both he and and six-year-old Leo were pumped for the start of first grade.

“Somebody is excited for Year 1. Good luck Champ. Love you,” Campbell posted.

Radio and television personality Chrissie Swan snapped a photo of her two boys, eight-year-old Leo and six-year-old Kit as they headed out the door.

“And off they go,” she posted to Instagram. “First day for my baby boy Kit and he was so excited.”

After the year that was 2016 for Roxy Jacenko, she is smiling as she’s snapped side by side with five-year-old daughter Pixie on the little one’s first day of Year K.

It’s strange to think Jacenko’s daughter is only just starting school. Pixie is “Insta-famous” with 111k followers and owns her own fashion accessories line, Pixie’s Bows.

Finally, this week was also a first for Bec Judd’s daughter Billie, who’s almost three. She had her first day at early learning centre yesterday.

No tears for this little fighter. She didn’t even notice when her mum left the room!
