Celebrities need to be sexy as often as is humanly possible. And they also have families, like the rest of us.
I get that, I really do. But do they really have to pose sexily next to their siblings? Is it absolutely necessary to pull your sister in real close and, say, stare at her breasts with your mouth gaping open?
Like this?
Exhibit A. The Jenner Sisters. Kendall and Kylie, being sexy and biologically related in the most direct sense.
Do they really, absolutely have to strip down to their sexy lacies, spoon on a bed, and stare seductively at the camera like they may have just performed some lewd sex act? Like this?
Exhibit B. The Minogue Sisters. Kylie and Danii, doing their faux-lesbian fashion shoot thing together, as siblings.
Do they really, truly have to get topless and buff, hold hands, and create a homoerotic fantasy that belongs on the walls of gay bars? Like this?
Exhibit C. The Stenmark Brothers. Jordan and Zac, standing as though they’ve just filmed their first gay porno.
Do they really, seriously have to pose for beautiful, atmospheric black-and-white fashion shoots where they grab their own breast? Like this?
Exhibit D. The Cruz Sisters. Penelope and Monica Cruz, being all seductive and glamorous and mostly naked together as a family outing.
Do they really, absolutely, truly, seriously have to start a line of sexy lingerie together as a family business and then touch each other’s mostly naked bodies to sell it? Like this?
Exhibit E. The Kardashians. Kourtney, Khloe, and Kim… being all Kardashian.
Celebrities really don’t need to fake incestuous attraction just to sell things, secure their fame, and confirm their own desirability.
They don’t need to get naked and stroke their family members – and for the love of all things normal and decent, I really wish they wouldn’t.
Famous people, stop it. Stop doing the incest pose, in all its hellish incarnations. You’re sexy as it is. You don’t need to be sexy with your sister.
Thanks.

A judge got into deep trouble this week by claiming that incest is becoming more normal and acceptable. His comments highlighted the murky moral landscape our society has created by destroying the old norms of sexual behaviour. Without clear lines of what is 'right' and 'wrong', our law is going to have more and more trouble defining what is a 'crime'. These sort of photos which, quite frankly, sexualise the sister/brother relationship, feed the uncertainty about sexual norms.
Sexuality now seems to be a buffet of choices. This fluidity is, in my opinion, creating great anxiety and uncertainty amongst our young people. I personally believe it is at the core of why so many are suffering from anxiety and depression.
This is relevant and interesting. This study created two facebook profiles of the same woman, one with a sexy profile pic and one profile with less revealing pic, and then asked women about their impressions of either sexy vs non-sexy profile pic.
They didn't like the sexy one as much on a few dimensions.

A lot of women don't like other women who they deem more attractive than themselves. It's a big part of the reason why women are really horrible to each other a lot of the time.
