You voted esmi as your favourite beauty brand in 2024. Here are their best 6 products, ranked.

Thanks to our brand partner, Esmi

In case you have been hiding under a rock and haven’t heard, esmi has been crowned All-Time Fave Beauty Brand in Mamamia’s 2024 You Beauty Awards. And we can understand why. With ingredients carefully chosen for their benefits and purpose with no compromise on quality, their skincare really is the crème de la crème when you want skincare that will have an impact.

So with such a huge milestone, we thought it was only right to share the top six esmi products that you need in your collection.

1. The Uncomplicated Cleanser, $49.

Cleansing is such an important step in our routine, but if you’re like me, you want it to be fuss-free. Enter: The Uncomplicated Cleanser, which as the name suggests is — a beautifully uncomplicated cleanser. Winning the Best Cleanser in the 2024 You Beauty Awards, it's designed for all skin types to help gently remove every trace of makeup and impurities from the day, with a focus on protecting your biome and barrier in the process. Its smooth and creamy texture makes for a luxurious feeling cleanse — one that removes everything and leaves my skin feeling soft and nourished (thanks to the Aloe Vera and Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract).

Cleansing is one of the most important steps in your routine — if you’re not cleansing your other skincare routine products are not going to work as well. So having a good cleanser in your routine is crucial, and The Uncomplicated Cleanser (as you all voted and as the 800 reviews on their website suggest) is the best of the best!

2. Hyaluronic Hydrating Serum, $65.

Image: Supplied.

If your skin is in need of a drink of water, then look no further. esmi’s Hyaluronic Hydrating Serum is the perfect pairing to dehydrated and thirsty skin. A Finalist for Best Serum in the 2024 You Beauty Awards, it contains triple-action hyaluronic acid which increases hydration by 25 per cent within two hours. The serum also has the jack-of-all-trades ingredient niacinamide (vitamin B3), that's especially great for brightening, targeting the signs of ageing, and regulating the skin's oil flow which aids in breakout prevention.

Unlike a moisturiser, it works by attracting water to the deeper layers of skin, rehydrating cells from the inside out. I love it because it is a super lightweight texture that really packs a punch. While it feels weightless, soaking into the skin quickly, it leaves my skin feeling instantly hydrated. I can’t live without a HA serum in my routine, especially over the cooler months, and this one is one of the best on the market.

3. Encapsulated Retinol 0.25% Level 1, $75.

Retinol is a key ingredient to have in your routine to help with cell turnover and stimulating collagen production, which in turn, helps to reduce the signs of ageing. Retinol has many benefits — helping with acne, pigmentation and sun damage — but can be a little scary to try. What I love about the esmi retinol range is that they have a strength for every retinol user from beginner to long-term retinol users. esmi uses encapsulated retinol, which has enhanced stability. The retinol is enclosed in tiny capsules which allows the active ingredients to penetrate deeper into the skin layer before being activated. This means it’s great if you have more sensitive skin, or haven’t used retinol before.

While also containing vitamin E to help keep your skin hydrated throughout the process, there are other skin-loving botanical active ingredients in this product's formula like tomato extract and carrot oil.

4. Probiotic Skin Mylck, from $65.

This is the product for skin in need of some extra TLC. Formulated with 100 per cent Australian-made probiotics, esmi is the first skincare brand to actually use 100 per cent Australian-made probiotics produced in an Australian cGMP/TGA approved laboratory (fancy!). If you, like me, never quite understood probiotics, essentially they are good bacteria that help balance the skin's microflora, strengthen the skin barrier and replenish the skin's moisture levels. All the good things that sensitive skin looove and need! It’s a dreamy milky texture that feels incredibly lightweight, but like all of esmi’s products, it packs a punch (in a sensitive kind of way).

While esmi's Skin Mylck launched a few years prior, it's said to be the dupe of Hailey Bieber’s Rhode Glazing Milk 👀 Sign me up please…

5. 24K Gold Nourishing Oil, $65.

If you want a little bit of luxury in your skin care, then you NEED this. Pure gold skincare helps counteract signs of premature skin ageing with antioxidant action. This oil contains a combination of luxurious 24K gold flakes to improve elasticity, boost blood circulation for a glowing complexion and increase firmness to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, as well as jojoba, avocado oil and coconut oil, all rich in skin-saving fatty acids. I feel like I’m in a luxurious day spa when I use this oil. It smells heavenly, but doesn’t leave you with that greasy feeling oils often have. Pair it with the Hyaluronic Hydrating Serum for the ultimate hydrating combination.

6. Bouncy Brightening Cream Mask, $70.

I don’t know about you, but my ultimate goal is to have a bright and glowy complexion. This mask is the answer. Known for its skin brightening and exceptional anti-ageing properties, kakadu plum extract contains nature's highest level of vitamin C. While I don’t always have time to book in a facial, this is the next best thing!
