Did Emma Stone draw freckles on her face?

The big question today is not Why on earth did Tony Abbott knight British royalty Prince Philip?

But: Did Emma Stone draw fake freckles on her face at the SAG awards? Well, it’s the big question on The Glow today, and I am the chosen one to take on this Very Important Investigation.

It was US website The Gloss who first brought this issue to our attention after a Reddit thread prompted them to take a closer look at Emma Stone’s ridiculously photogenic and poreless face.

Side-swept hair was the real winner of the Golden Globes red carpet.

Lets examine the evidence. Alas I present to you EXHIBIT A: a close up of her at the SAG awards overnight.

Do you see what I see? Freckles, yes FRECKLES. What's that? The zoom function on your phone letting you down? Here they are from another angle:

The best beauty looks from the Golden Globes.

EXHIBIT B: Here’s what her naturally gorgeous and freckly face looks like:

EXHIBIT C: Here's the makeup she sported at the Golden Globes earlier this month:

EXHIBIT D: Here’s what her makeup looked like after the award ceremony. As you can see her mascara has smudged (it happens to the best of us, babes) but her freckles are not visible anymore. (Well, aside from that one near her cheekbone.)

And we have so many questions: Did the fake freckles fade into makeup oblivion? Did she simply touch up her foundation? Did she lose her makeup clutch?

THE VERDICT: If I were a judge I’d have to cop out and say the evidence is too inconclusive to make a ruling. I'm inclined to say that this is just what her natural freckles look like with a light coverage foundation. But I'm not 100% sure. I’m sorry, I feel like I’ve failed you. Also, I'm distracted by that killer poppy red lipstick - it's Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Gladiolus if like me, you want to go out and buy it immediately.

But if you are keen to take on what is supposedly one of the silliest biggest beauty trends of 2015, Topshop have released a pencil specifically for drawing on freckles. Or you know, you could use an eyebrow pencil or just stop hiding them with thick coverage foundation.

And because our investigative skillz aren't just limited to freckle busting (or not), here's another time we looked at a little too closely at Emma Stone. Ok, that sounds bad...

Over to you, do you think her freckles are drawn on?
