Two former breakfast hosts are moving on (and throwing some shade at their former bosses)

They hosted the weather on competing channels, but now Emma Freedman and Grant Denyer are forecasting clear skies ahead – with little thought for the dark clouds of controversy behind them.

Fans were blown away last month when Emma Freedman revealed that she had been shown the door by the Today ShowThe Sunday Telegraph reports that Freedman heard about her sacking through her management – not from her bosses at Nine. And no one was more stormy than her father, horse racing legend, Lee Freedman, who tweeted his displeasure.

But it seems that Freedman’s sunny disposition was just what Channel Ten has been looking for – and she is scheduled to appear on Studio 10 as its fifth panellist on Monday.

The show’s Executive Producer, Rob McKnight, seems fairly smug about what he sees as a steal for Ten:“I’m hoping she’ll become part of our extended family as she’s great talent and a real loss for them.”

Meanwhile, Family Feud host Grant Denyer is happy to talk about his new lifestyle working for Ten – with some veiled backhanders for former employer, Channel 7’s Sunrise program.

Denyer has written a piece for the Sunday Telegraph, telling fans that life is a breeze since he quit as Sunrise’s weather presenter.

“I am having a ball making Family Feud…It was a gamble to leave Seven and jump networks to tackle an old favourite like Family Feud. It has been the perfect decision at the end of the day.

It is back to doing the kind of thing that made me famous in the first place as the Sunrise weather man.”

Denyer makes reference to his ill-health while working for Channel 7.

“Health-wise I’m 1000 per cent better than where I was a year and a half ago (when I quit Sunrise). I reckon I’m about 90 per cent there to be honest. The better I get the more I realise how bad I was.”

He’s also happy to talk about his future with Channel Ten.

“I’m getting hungry to do more. I’m never one to sit still for too long. Ten and I are working together on what’s going to be the next thing.

There are dreams that weren’t quite realised when I was at Seven. We’ve been sitting down and talking about 2015 and 2016 which is good.”
