Actress Ellen Page announces she secretly married her girlfriend with beautiful photos.

Just six months after going public with their relationship, Juno star Ellen Page has revealed she and girlfriend Emma Portner have secretly tied the knot.

The 30-year-old actress shared the happy news in a series of Instagram posts, showing off the couple’s matching wedding bands.

"Can't believe I get to call this extraordinary woman my wife," she shared with her 1.2 million followers.

She also shared beautiful images of her and Emma, a 22-year-old dancer and contemporary jazz teacher, posing with their new rings.

The Inception and X-Men: Days of Future Past actress first came out in 2014, during a speech at a conference to promote the welfare of LGBT youth in the US.

"I'm here today because I am gay. And because... maybe I can make a difference. To help others have an easier and more hopeful time," she told the crowd.

"I also do it selfishly, because I am tired of hiding and I am tired of lying by omission. I suffered for years because I was scared to be out.

"My spirit suffered, my mental health suffered and my relationships suffered. And I'm standing here today, with all of you, on the other side of that pain. I am young, yes, but what I have learned is that love, the beauty of it, the joy of it and yes, even the pain of it, is the most incredible gift to give and to receive as a human being.

"And we deserve to experience love fully, equally, without shame and without compromise."

Ellen also lent her voice to the #MeToo movement, sharing an emotional tale of her interactions with disgraced director Brett Ratner while working on X-Men.

"I was eighteen years old. He looked at a woman standing next to me, ten years my senior, pointed to me and said: 'You should fuck her to make her realise she’s gay.' He was the film's director, Brett Ratner," she wrote on Facebook.

"I was a young adult who had not yet come out to myself. I knew I was gay, but did not know, so to speak. I felt violated when this happened. I looked down at my feet, didn't say a word and watched as no one else did either.

"This man, who had cast me in the film, started our months of filming at a work event with this horrific, unchallenged plea. He 'outed' me with no regard for my wellbeing, an act we all recognise as homophobic.

"This is a long awaited reckoning. It must be. Don't allow this behaviour to be normalised. Don't compare wrongs or criminal acts by their degrees of severity.

"Don't allow yourselves to be numb to the voices of victims coming forward. Don't stop demanding our civil rights. I am grateful to anyone and everyone who speaks out against abuse and trauma they have suffered. You are breaking the silence. You are revolution."

Now, we are wishing her and her new wife every happiness in the world. What a way to kick off 2018.
