1. Mass murderer Dylann Roof had a terrifying white supremacist manifesto.

Dylann Roof is the man accused of shooting dead nine African Americans at a church in Charleston, South Carolina.

Yesterday, a website was found to contain a user by the name of “Dylan Roof” who was in photographs holding large weapons, posing outside a slave plantation and burning the American flag. In the photographs, police say there is pictured a .45 caliber gun – the same weapon allegedly used during the Charleston shooting.

The website describes how the author was radicalised, their views of different races, and a section titled “an explanation” explicitly mentioning Charleston.

“I have no choice,” the supremacist manifesto reads. “I am not in the position to, alone, go into the ghetto and fight. I chose Charleston because it is most historic city in my state, and at one time had the highest ratio of blacks to Whites in the country.”

“We have no skinheads, no real KKK, no-one doing anything but talking on the internet. Well someone has to have the bravery to take it to the real world, and I guess that has to be me.”

Twenty-one-year-old Roof is charged with the murders of nine people at the Emanuel African Methodist Church in downtown Charleston.

Police said he spent an hour in Bible study with parishioners at the historically black church before opening fire on them on Wednesday evening.

2. Parents have started a brawl at a children’s party in Western Sydney.

Parents from two separate birthday parties quarrelled over who would use certain piece of equipment at Lollipop’s Playland and Cafe in Wetherill Park. Before long, the fight escalated into a brawl which has left three fathers in hospital with minor injuries.

It is alleged that during the verbal disagreement one of the father’s pulled a young girl’s hair. When this young girl went to inform her father, the confrontation began. The Playland has provided CCTV footage to the police but has not released any further comments at this time.

Detectives from Fairfield have appealed for any witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

3. A 25-year-old man is in a critical condition after being attacked by a group of men in Sydney’s Darling Harbour.

The 25-year-old man was walking with a group of male and female friends heading south on the Eastern Promenade near Pyrmont Bridge in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Detectives believe the group then became involved in a verbal confrontation with a group of three men who were walking past at about 1am.

The argument escalated, prompting a physical fight between the two groups.

The 25-year-old man was punched by one of the men in the group before he fell to the ground hitting his head on the brick promenade.

The three men fled the scene and ran through Town Square towards Wheat Street where they were last seen entering a grey or blue coloured sedan.

The man’s friend’s provided first aid before emergency services were called to Cockle Bay Wharf to find the man with serious head injuries.

Police are now urging the three men to come forward.

4. According to a new British survey, ‘more than 1 out of every 35 men could be a child abuser.’

Up to 750,000 men living in Britain may have an interest in having sex with children, the Government has been warned.

A shocking analysis by the National Crime Agency reveals that about one in 35 adult males poses a potential risk of being a child abuser or of seeking out child sex images online.

As many as 250,000 men may be sexually attracted to pre-pubescent children –  those under 12 – according to the findings disclosed exclusively to The Mail on Sunday.

The deputy director general of the National Crime Agency (NCA) Phil Gormley said: “We are starting to get a real sense of the scale.”

He also warned that paedophiles are so numerous that “the reality is that we are all living not far away from one.”

At the moment, the government is working with Facebook to create a system that will see minors alerted to the fact they are being groomed online. It will be based on particular common behaviours males use to get the attention of young children.

5. A man has used his lottery winnings to buy billboards that will save women’s lives.

Jack Maier, 79, won a $200,000 lotto draw in 2006, but he didn’t use the money to invest, or to pay off his mortgage. Jack used the money to rent billboards that reminded women to get mammograms and second opinions to prevent breast cancer.

Jack’s wife Myrna passed away from the disease, prompting the lotto winner to do something amazing and heartfelt for his community of women in Wisconsin.

The boards cost about $2,000 a month, so Jack plans on keeping them up until he runs out of money.
