Today’s Good News post is brought to you by Vaalia.

For the next four weeks we’ll be bringing you a little dose of good news. Sometimes when we turn on the TV, radio or open a newspaper, it feels like everything in the world is just sad and wrong. But there are pockets of delight and happiness, which we’ll be uncovering and bringing to you.

Pascale Honore, a 50-year-old mum from Australia, was left paralysed by a car accident 18 years ago.

She is now wheelchair bound, and after the accident she says that she had to learn to accept “suddenly all the things I loved doing I couldn’t do anymore”.

This included her love of the sea and watching her son’s surf.

And then one of her son’s friends, 23-year-old Tyron Swan, came up with a plan to help Pascale discover the exhilaration of surfing.

He took to the waves – with his friend’s mother strapped to his back with duct tape.

Can you ask for a more uplifting start to the morning than that?
