Why you should probably try a dual stimulation suction sex toy.

When it comes to stimulating the genitals, the more the merrier I say. And for that reason, dual stimulation toys tick all the boxes.

Sex toys have come a long way in recent years with what seems like a new design every month, and clit sucking toys have been the biggest trend of 2021 - and don’t appear to be moving from the top spot anytime soon.

So, if you can’t beat them, join them, and level up with a dual stimulation suction toy instead!

Firstly, what the hell is a dual-stimulation sex toy?

These are sex toys that stimulate the clitoris and the vagina at the same time, bless them. 

It’s a term commonly given to rabbit vibrators, but now also describes toys that use clitoral suction rather than vibration. 

Suction toys use a technology called pressure wave or air tech, depending on who you ask. But these are pretty much the same thing. It’s a technology that causes the air to flutter, pulse and pleasure the clitoris. You need to create a seal between your skin and the toy while the toy pulses to move the air around the clitoris without actually coming into contact with it. The idea is that it creates a light suckling or suction on the clitoris which feels similar to being stimulated by a mouth. 

While these toys have been around for a while, the dual stimulation version that targets the clitoris and the vagina at the same time are relatively new, and they are coming in hot! That added internal shaft adds more vibration, more sensation and more pleasure. Yes please!

Why are dual-stimulation sex toys so good?

For many people, these toys hit the most sensitive and pleasurable parts of the body: the clitoris and the vagina. 

A 2017 study published in the Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy interviewed 1,055 women between the ages of 18-94 and found that only 18.4 per cent of respondents could orgasm from penetrative intercourse alone while 36.6 per cent reported that clitoral stimulation was necessary for orgasm during intercourse. 

A lot of the time, this is the same with toys too, and this is no surprise. 

The clitoris has around 8,000 nerve endings and is the epicentre of pleasure for most of those that have one.  

And as this study found, it’s sometimes the sole pathway to pleasure for people as it’s so closely tied to our sexual arousal. When our bodies are sexually stimulated, blood rushes into the clitoris and labia making it become extremely sensitive. With continued stimulation, a person can achieve orgasm. Yay!

Clitoral suction toys help to replicate this experience. The airflow creates pressure around the clitoris encouraging blood flow to the area and helping people to have an orgasm. 

Basically, they provide the right type of stimulation in exactly the right place.

And for some users, this happens really quick, like, within a minute or two. It’s happened to me with these toys and it’s bloody amazing when it does. 

What sets these toys apart from your classic suction toy is the vaginal stimulator. This addition takes things to the next level by adding pleasurable pressure and vibration to the vagina. This will stimulate the many nerve endings in this area and provide more stimulation to the whole genital area.

Depending on your anatomy and the size of the toy you choose, you may also experience g-spot stimulation too. Contrary to its name, the g-spot it not actually a specific spot, but an area of increased sensitivity that responds well to pressure. 

It’s located about two inches inside the vagina on the anterior wall towards the belly button and is actually part of the erectile tissue of the internal clitoris. Hence why it can feel so damn good when stimulated! 

But because our bodies are all different, some people feel more pleasure in this area than others. If it is something you know you enjoy, then a toy with a larger internal shaft may be better for you so it can massage the right spot.

It’s important to consider both the flexibility and the length between each end of this toy. You need to insert the vaginal bulb then manoeuvre the clitoral stimulator to the perfect position. 

And I use the term manoeuvre as it can be a bit of a mission but, it’s worth it, I promise. If there isn’t much flexibility, then this may not be possible depending on your anatomy and the distance between the vagina and the clitoris. 

In my opinion, the more movement this part of the toy has, the better. 

You’ll want to use plenty of water-based lube on the internal part of the toy to aid insertion and ensure a comfortable play session. It’s up to you whether you want to use lubricant around the clitoral nozzle. 

It can help to create a seal between your toy and your body. If you are struggling to feel sensation or can’t quite figure out the correct position, lube can help.

Most dual stimulation toys will have motors that can be controlled individually or together. This means you can use one end at a time or both simultaneously, and you can have an intense setting on one end and lighter on the other or vice versa. But proceed with caution and start on a low level! 

Clitoral suction toys are already known for their power and adding vibration into the mix really takes things to a new level. 

I always recommend having a play with the functions outside of the body first (no matter how excited you are!) so that you have an idea of how it will feel while you use it. And ensure you know how to turn it off in a hurry if you need to. 

Many people find that suction toys can feel super intense on the clitoris following orgasm as their clitoris is at it’s most sensitive. Dual stimulation toys are more difficult to simply whip off your body, so ensure that you can slow down or turn off the suction when you need to.

I’ll be honest, these toys are not always easy to use, and it can take a little wiggling and practice to find the spot that feels good to you. So don’t give up if it doesn’t go so well the first time. 

It might take one or two goes before you figure out how to make the toy work with your body. But for me, that little extra wiggling is totally worth the effort!
