Dove – the creators of many a beautiful viral video about women’s body image and body confidence – have another question for you.
What if body confidence was this easy?
Dove worked with esteemed psychologist Dr. Ann Kearney-Cooke to develop an experiment, where women would wear a new patch to help make them feel more beautiful. A tiny patch with different chemicals, to change your body chemistry. There are patches to quit smoking; and this patch was designed to be the antidote to negative body image.
This is how it played out.
The overall message?
Ultimately beauty is a state of mind.
Do you agree?
Next Tuesday at 12pm, Mamamia will be joined by Dr. Ann Kearney-Cooke and one of the women from the video. Leave any questions you might have for them in the comments section below, and they’ll be back on Tuesday to answer them.

I have a Q for whoever wore the patch. Didn't you feel disappointed when you found out there was nothing in the patch or was it a big boost to know you could feel like that without any special medicine.? I would like to use this "patch" on my daughter or something but don't want her to be mad when she finds out there is nothing in it..
Question for Dr Kearney-Cooke... are you looking into whether there are wider implications for this study in a practical sense? Could this sort of placebo affect be used on, eg, people with body dysmorphia or real confidence issues?
