Sandblasted jeans are bad for your health. True fact. As we reported on Mamamia before, sandblasting jeans involves shooting tiny particles of silica (sand) at high pressure at the denim. The problem is that when inhaled, the silica can result in silicosis which is a sometimes fatal lung disease. The victims of the process are most often poorer workers in factories outside of the developed world.
But if you really want jeans that look a little er, distressed, you can do this. No silica involved.
It’s simply brilliant.
