I remember seeing a doco about the audition process to find the lead female in the 1st production of "MISS SAIGON" - Lea Salonga got the role and her voice was a stand-out.
I've spent years of my life voicing all manner of things - character, straight & vocals and I seriously don't look like most of them.
It's great work when you can get it - but very little is written or called-for these days.
My specialty has been to play a few ages & characters in the same project - saves producers a lot of money.
Many people wouldn't bother to view an animation for eg. unless it was voiced by someone famous.
I'm just waiting for the wheel to turn again........lol.
