Get ready, true crime fans.
For those of us who devoured season one of Dirty John on Netflix, there’s good news: A second season of the gripping true crime series is in the works.
With a whole new cast, the second season, called Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story, will again focus on a deeply troubled marriage, this time following the relationship of Betty Broderick and her husband Dan.
“The first season of Dirty John was a story of twisted love and coercive control and both these insidious elements are also present in and integral to the story of Betty Broderick, whom I have wanted to write about since I became a writer,” series creator Alexandra Cunningham said in a statement following the announcement of season two.
Amanda Peet and Christian Slater will play the lead actors in the story, which occurred during the 1960s through to the 1980s.

Literally Karl stefanovic’s life except for the murder. All this shows is that women should never sacrifice their career and dreams for their husband because you never know what can happen. Not saying murder is right but it’s impossible not to empathise with Betty.
Nothing even remotely live Stefanovic, because there was no affair. He met Jasmine 6 months after he and Cassandra filed for a divorce, in fact, he met Jasmine while they were amid divorce proceedings. People should get their facts straight before accusing every man who moves on before the woman does of cheating.
Uh, no. Lots of men are supported by their female partners while they get ahead in life and work - that's not a uniquely "Stefanovic" thing. In Stefanovic's case, his marriage broke up, the divorce was not "messy" like the one described in this article (indeed, it sounds as though it was entirely uncontested on his part), and he found a new partner. Hardly unique, and hardly even controversial - and nothing like the scenario in this article.
Jeepers - that came out of left field.
Also, women choose to sacrifice their career, while their husbands like Karl get up at 3am to earn the millions that gives them a lifestyle they are accustomed to. So who is really doing the sacrificing? The one staying at home? Or the one who has to get up at 3am to pay those credit card bills? Logistically and logically, one would say it is the Karls who are sacrificing the most for their family and for the lifestyle the wife wants. It's not all spas, facials, midday girls meetups, manicures and brunches for the one who has to go to work for it.
