She didn’t get to be First Lady so Donald Trump’s first wife Ivana has demanded a plum role instead.

The first wife of Donald Trump, Ivana, wants into the political side of things now her former husband has landed the most high profile job in the world.Ivana Trump has given an interview saying that she would like to be ambassador for the Czech Republic, now known as Czechia.

“I will suggest that I be ambassador for the Czech Republic,” Ivana told The New York Post.

Ivana Trump was married to Donald Trump for 14 years before a scandalous divorce in 1990 after he had an affair with Marla Maples – his second ex-wife.

Ivana and Donald had three children together and were familiar faces on the celebrity circuit.

Ivana then went on to marry and divorce two other men, write novels, launch her own fashion, beauty and jewellery lines and even appear on Celebrity Big Brother in the UK in 2010.

But it’s now a diplomatic role she is eyeing.

She told The New York Post, “I’m quite known all around the world. Not only in America. I have written three books, and they were translated in 40 countries in 25 languages. I’m known by the name Ivana. I really did not need the name Trump.”

In her interview, Ivana, who remains on good terms with the President-elect, said she would be surprised if Mr Trump gave up his lavish lifestyle, including Trump Tower.

“I don’t think he will ever give up [his apartment at] the Trump Tower,” Ivana said. “I know it is probably inconvenient for the residents, but he is going to work it out. But he is moving to White House [as his primary residence].

“To be perfectly honest, I think probably the Trump Tower and my town house in New York is much better than the White House.”

“But Donald is very right,” she said. “He said if a lot of presidents before can live in here, so can [he] . . . I don’t think he’s going to do gold leafing in the White House.”

The first Mrs Trump, who famously appeared on a Pizza Hut ad with Mr Trump after their divorce said she thinks he will keep his own personal $100 million Boeing 757 instead of using Air Force One.

“I think he probably will keep his own plane,” she said. “He’s very happy in his own plane.”

He’s just not happy with the idea of travel, she says.

“Donald is like a good French wine. He doesn’t like to be moved and travelled.”

“The last 18 months, he traveled as much as he ever has in his life. Thank God he has his private plane, but still, it was brutal. It’s not going to get any better; it will get worse in the White House.”

She said he won’t have much trouble adjusting to life as the president.

“In his spare time, he’ll have to play golf. I don’t think it will happen in the first 100 days in office, because he will be working from morning to night, which he loves. He only sleeps three hours a night.”

While she may have missed out on becoming the First Lady herself, Ivana has admitted that she isn’t jealous of Mr Trumps’ third wife, the new First Lady Melania’s role.

“I don’t have envy for Melania [because she has] to start to pack the clothes and everything.”

Three of Trump’s children Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump –are all poised to take roles in the new life of Donald Trump. Ivanka’s husband Jared Kushner is even in the running to become Chief of Staff.

Ivana said she feels they are well prepared for political life but feels sorry for Melania and Donald’s son, Barron.

“Barron is 10 years old. It’s so new for him. He has to go and change the schools and get new friends. It’s going to be a huge transition for him. He’s the one I feel the most for. It’s going to be a whole new world for him, with security and all that.”
