And yet The Masked Singer judge continued on with the show.

“I had no idea what was happening to me but I kept trying to tell jokes,” he wrote in a series of three Instagram posts.

“Tried to talk my way through it. Got handed a chair to sit on.

“A number of concerned friends said they wanted to get up and walk me off stage. I literally needed someone to throw the towel in for me. But they didn’t and I ended up doing my time!”

Eventually, he finished his 10-minute set, and proceeded to go to hospital where he was diagnosed with “true vertigo,” after completing an MRI scan. Hughesy also confirmed to fans his clean bill of health, writing on Instagram: “Never had it before! I’m all good now!”

Speaking to News.com.au, father-of-three said the vertigo episode caused him to slur his words, and blur his vision, with some audience member confused as to whether it was just part of his act.

“I could hardly see,” said.

“In hindsight it was f***ing ridiculous that I didn’t just walk off, absolutely ridiculous. For all I knew I was having a stroke!

“Apparently, at one point I said to the crowd, ‘I’m Dave Hughes, I’m really good at comedy, I can do this’.”

Jokes aside, sometimes the show really does not need to go on. This being one of them.

2. Olivia Newton-John has been diagnosed with breast cancer for the third time.

Singer, entrepreneur, dancer, and activist, Olivia Newton-John has talked about dealing with her third breast cancer diagnosis, after beating the cancer in 1992 and 2013.

Appearing on CBS Sunday Morning with Gayle King, the 70-year-old said she remains optimistic and hopeful in light of the stage 4 cancer.

“I know what the statistics are… But I put them away,” she said.

“I’m going to live longer than that. I’ve made that decision. And I don’t buy into the statistics because I think they can make you really nervous.”

Writing in her biography Don’t Stop Believin‘ she said the disease was something she would have to “stay on top of for the rest of my long life”.

“I truly believe this will be my final round with cancer. I truly believe it will be like last time and I will go on with my life,” she wrote.

The current five-year survival rate for stage 4 metastatic breast cancer sits at 22 per cent, with a median survival rate of three years.

3. Gwyneth Paltrow has shared a rare photo with her 15-year-old daughter Apple.

A friend of Gwyneth, Derek Blasberg, has posted a photo to Instagram of the actress, her mum Blythe Danner, and daughter, Apple.

“Today is the middle one’s birthday, but let’s celebrate the entire Danner-Paltrow-Martin bloodline,” the fashion mogul and journalist wrote alongside the picture. “Here are three kind, talented, sweet, lithe (rhymes with Blythe!), wonderful women.”

“The apple doesn’t fall from the tree—and neither does Apple,” he added. “Wishing you the absolute bestest year ever @gwynethpaltrow!”

Celebrities Reese Witherspoon, Courtney Love and Poppy Delevigne all shared their love in the comments section on the photo.

Paltrow doesn’t often post pictures on her own social media of her children. But in March this year, she shared a selfie with her daughter in ski gear.

“Mum we have discussed this. You may not post anything without my consent,” the teenager commented.

Defending herself, Paltrow wrote back, “You can’t even see your face!”

It was a rare glimpse into the pair’s relationship. Paltrow shares Apple with ex-husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

4. The actress who played baby Emma has shared a bunch of photos from her time on Friends.
