On December 6 of 2012, Tara Maxwell left her two-year-old son Darcy with her boyfriend of three-months, Adam Taylor.
“He was very willing to look after him,” Maxwell told 60 Minutes last night.
Taylor had often driven Maxwell’s eldest son Gracen, now 13, to school and regularly looked after Darcy while Maxwell was at work.
That day, they had been paddle boarding at Avoca lagoon and swimming.

It's believed that as some point the toddler hit his head and had been submerged in water for at least one second.
His mother took him to Gosford Hospital on the NSW Central Coast with bruising on his arms, legs and ears.

Clearly she hadn't heard about Jaidyn Leskie and Greg Domaszewicz?
I agree with the other commenters so far. This interview irked me because the mother claimed that she had no idea of Adam's violent tendencies yet her friend stated that she was at her house when she locked him outside and Adam threw a table through the window, shattering the glass. Needless to say I am still heartbroken for both the mother and the father in this case, not to mention poor Darcy. Also what a load of bollocks that the fall on the paddle board would have been one of the many reasons given for the bruise. My toddler has fallen from her highchair once onto the tiled floor and didn't even get a bruise or even a lump on her head let alone die of a brain injury. I'm also skeptical of the ingestion of water unless it was for longer than the 3-4 secs Adam's flat mate said he was under for. Two year olds go under the water for at least this length of time at swimming lessons!
