This dad's hilarious reaction is everyone who believes a fake tree is a crime against Christmas.

When it comes to Christmas, there are two kinds of people. Those who have a real Christmas tree, and those who don’t really have a Christmas at all. Obviously.

We’re talking about fake trees of course – the ultimate crime against Christmas.

And if you agree with that statement, then you’ll certainly relate to this father’s reaction when his wife suggests a fake tree be put up in his home this year.

Listen: What a tree still worthy of Instagram, but don’t want to exclude the kids? A ‘B’ tree is your answer. (Post continues.)

In the now viral video shared on Twitter, his daughter watches as her mum, clearly stirring him up, suggests they get a plastic tree they can reuse many times with a “Glade candle that smells like the tree”.

With her phone camera ready, she captures the middle of the conversation as the father walks through the door.

His face says it all.

We see a mixture of surprise, revulsion, aggravation and slight disbelief from the man, who goes to speak and then shakes his head, telling his wife: “I don’t know what’s happened to you. And I know I can’t solve it, so I’m just going to let it go.”

He then leaves the room as his wife laughs.

More than 4.2 million people have watched the 30-second clip, which the young woman captioned: “My mom suggested to my dad that they get an artificial tree this year, and he wasn’t too thrilled.”

And in case you were wondering, Madds gave an update and the family ended up getting a real tree.

I always suffered eczema and hayfever from the real ones, so no choice.

I love our real tree, but I have to wear gloves to decorate it because I get a hideous rash on my hands otherwise! No hay fever, thank goodness, because I love the smell of the real ones.

We are the opposite... our old dusty plastic one gave my daughter eczema, so we are fresh all the way now :)

Real trees are such an American thing. I don't know the big deal - plastic ones look better as they are even and don't wilt or dry out or make a mess. I don't know any Australians who use a real tree. Well except a couple with limited space who decorate a potted tree or a tree n the back yard!
