Stacey asked:

"I hate bras. They’re so uncomfortable and all I can think about all day is ripping it off. Leigh, I've heard you talk about wearing non-wired bras in the past, and I think this might be my solution. Can you please share your favourite bras without underwire? Me and my boobs thank you!"

Leigh answered:

You are not alone. I am here with you - in the bra hating club. If I had a dollar for every bra I’ve tried, well, I’d still be very out of pocket considering how much money I have spent over the decades trying to find the goldilocks of chest support.

The good news is, I have some winners! Comfy, not totally hideous, and inconspicuous under clothes - all the things I look for.

Body By M&S Flexifit Non Wired Bralette A-E, $28.99.

I reckon this is the one you recall me talking about. Nice thin straps so you can wear it with a tank or a dress, and the band under the bust and under the arm is the perfect thickness for feeling secure. 

There’s also a little hook on the back ring so you can convert it to a racerback, which you can't feel if you’re not utilising. There’s also an option for sizes F-H. 

Wear Nala Plunge Wirefree Bralette, $45.

This brand is an Aussie lady startup who are absolutely killing it, and it's easy to see why. Fun colours and comfy styles you actually want to wear. 

This style also has convertible straps and comes in six statement shades. Sizing is from XS to 3XL. 

Nat V Basics Cheeky Crop, $39.

With sizes ranging from S to XXXL, this one is made from organically-grown, sustainably farmed organic beech trees. That means it’s great at moisture absorption and odour control. 

There’s five beautiful soft colours to choose from. 

Triumph Lift Smart Padded Bra, $69.95.

If you want a push-up style without the discomfort of wire, this one's for you. The internal panel lifts the chest up, and the stretch of lace across the body of the bra makes it perfect under camisoles or sexy dresses (or even on its own under a buttoned-up blazer or sheer top).

Simone Perele Heloise Soft Cup Triangle Bra, $129.95.

This one offers sex appeal, minus the wince come date night because you’ll actually want to wear it. The broderie anglaise lace is so pretty, and the deep V means it’s perfect for low-cut tops. 

It’s okay if a little bit shows with a bra this nice. 

Kmart Seamfree Sculpting Crop Top, $14.

I bought this in-store and I'm glad I did, because it doesn't look very appealing on the website. A Skims dupe, it’s not the prettiest option but it is so, so comfy without feeling flimsy. 

I wear it under t-shirts or thick-strapped tank tops and can attest to it being seam-free - you can’t see anything. 

Cotton On Body Ultimate Comfort Wire-Free T-Shirt Bra, $29.99.

This offers all the comfort of no underwire, but the slight padding in the cup offers security if you’re worried about the nipple shape showing. Sizes range from XS to XL, and it comes in black and a shade called ‘frappe’.
