Sharing her final thoughts on Instagram last night on almost every element of the much-anticipated finale, there wasn’t a hint of jealously nor sadness from the 32-year-old that her storyline didn’t have a much happier ending.
Despite not finding love on the show, it’s clear Verall found strong bond amongst the other women taking part, sharing her excitement for the fact two of the other relationships have sustained themselves off the screen and in the outside world.
“I seriously adore so many of these wonderful, kind hearted, brave people,” she wrote on Instagram before sharing images of Erin and Bryce and Christie and Mark following the news the couples had stayed together.
Watching last night’s episode back would no doubt be an interesting experience for the 32-year-old, with many throughout the course of the series sceptical as to whether Verall was actually matched with experimental husband Jono for genuine reasons or rating reasons.
Verall appeared happy throughout the run of the show to reflect on the unlikely duo’s honeymoon and their time spent together. Verall and her experimental ‘husband’ Jono split before the show’s finale, following a very public breakdown of their relationship.
Sharing a photo of the two holding a baby crocodile while on honeymoon, Clare wrote that Jono had pushed himself outside of his comfort zone while on their holiday and for that she respected him.
“Jono had actually been damn brave & faced his valid crocodile fear. On this day we also fed baby crocs, and even went in the ‘box of death’ where you are lowered in a plastic box into the water with ‘chopper’ a 700kg Salt Water crocodile!”
However, it was also her fierce defence of fellow contestant Simone that got fans talking, after her fellow contestant very emotionally broke up with ‘husband’ Xavier on last night’s finale.
“For the awesome @simbaleebrennan who was brave enough to walk away from a relationship that wasn’t making her happy. Love you girl, that took guts & I have nothing but admiration for you!” she wrote alongside a video message calling Simone “brave” and “inspirational” for being honest and knowing what she wanted out of a relationship.
Her message of support was followed up with another, blasting online trolls who were cluttering up Simone’s social media accounts and sending messages of hate.
“What has filled you with such hate?? Why do you feel the need to private message people you don’t know such horrific things? There is a real person receiving those messages, A REAL PERSON WITH A HEART & FEELINGS. I will never understand why people believe it is ok to bully people online or offline,” she wrote.
Appearing on the show would’ve been an overwhelmingly disappointing experience for Clare, who admits she was looking for love despite being paired with someone who was so unlike herself, and one that polarised viewers to no end.
Regardless, if her comments on last night’s episode are anything to go by, it doesn’t seem to be getting her down too much. And that, we can admire.
