With one Instagram photo, Chrissie Swan has silenced her body critics.

Chrissie Swan’s kids sure know how to throw a party — well, a health food party at least.

Appearing on Have You Been Paying Attention? last night, the radio host and mother of three used an Instagram picture to silence her body shamers.

Swan explained her kids had set up a “party” in her bedroom, using “designer party plates” and dishing up an apple for each guest.

“So try fat shaming me over that!” she laughed when quizzed about the snap.

This may or may not be the healthiest kids party we’ve ever seen.

Swan's comments come just months after she addressed celebrity trainer Michelle Bridges' claim that she'd "never met a happy fat person".

"Michelle Bridges last night on Australian Story said that she’s never met a happy fat person. And yet mysteriously I have met her many times," Swan said on her NOVA radio show.

"Hi Michelle if you are listening. Remember me? I’ve known you for years. We have met many, many times … You can take it back now. I’m happy."

Chrissie needs to understand Michelle has always been thin and sports focussed. She has said repeatedly she doesn't get people who don't like exercise. So in her mind there is no way a person could be happy unless they live a similar lifestyle to her. Many people are like her and relate easily. I think that when MB has worked in an industry for so long and it's mantra is changing people because there is something wrong with them, then she is continuing on this thought and projecting it on others.

The narrative around Obesity/skinniness in general needs to be re thought. I am tired of "shaming" being used every time people make comments, added to that the "concern trolling". I say we are bordering on ignoring all the good work done by "R U Ok" when we can be genuinely interested in offering compassion to others.

Chrissie can tell people how she feels about herself and that is a wonderful thing that she has the platform to express herself.

I think Michelle Bridges also probably encounters overweight people that have decided/realised that they're unhappy with the way they feel and look and have decided to do something about it (ie go to a trainer). The bulk of her experience with overweight people is probably within that context.

There should be a full body picture taken was showing more of the negative effects [on the body] of being overweight, e. g., swollen lower extremities [legs] . This comment is not intended to be derogative but an alarming one suggesting that it is very dangerous to think that it is healthy to be overweight and thus an urgent action should be taken to achieve the opposite health condition. Being overweight also results in severe lipolymphedema in legs and feet
