Married At First Sight star from the Gold Coast, Cheryl Maitland, is in the middle of a long-process to remove a tattoo from her back.
In a video shared to Instagram yesterday, the 26-year-old hairdressing assistant explained she’s been receiving laser treatments to remove the tattoo for two years, seeing a specialist every couple of months.
“I don’t want any scarring, so I’m taking it super super slowly,” she explained, angling the camera so viewers could see the faded tattoo on the back of her shoulder.
She said the laser is painful, but gets more durable over time.
The tattoo, which Maitland has done a good job hiding from her 150,000 Instagram followers, is cursive writing surrounded by love hearts.
Why is she getting rid of it?
"It said 'perfectly imperfect' which means that my imperfections 'make me'. But I feel like I don't need that on a tattoo any more. So I just want to get rid of it."
After the conclusion of Married At First Sight, Cheryl began dating plumber and former policeman Dean Gibbs.
