Where to find cheap (and decent) workout clothes

Image: Nat rocking her $10 Kmart tights.

I walked into a sports store over the weekend to pick up a new pair of tights – and nearly had an aneurysm when I saw the price tag.

$99? For one pair of tights? Plain black tights with a teeny-tiny logo on the upper right hand side?

NOPE. NO THANKS.

Of course, it’s really nice to buy expensive workout gear – typically it’s beautiful quality, and it lasts a long time. But unless it’s also on sale, you can expect to be forking out the same amount of money for one item that you’d pay for, say, a flight from Sydney to Brisbane. And there are very few people who have a budget that stretches to that luxury.

If you are one of those people, good on you. Also, please send me some of your money.

If you are not one of those people, don’t panic – happily, there are many Aussie brands that have jumped on the activewear bandwagon and are producing great-quality gear for very reasonable prices.

Here are my favourite (affordable) items from different brands…
