Fred Nile slammed over insensitive response to Charlotte Dawson’s death

Fred Nile, the Christian Democratic Party MP, has found himself in the midst of a social media storm after he posted a status on his party’s Facebook page linking Charlotte Dawson’s death with the pregnancy termination she reportedly had over two decades ago.

Mr Nile posted a photo of Charlotte and wrote underneath, ‘On the day of the termination Charlotte says she was in ‘total turmoil. I felt a shift. I felt the early tinges of what I can now identify as my first experience with depression.’ – in memoriam.’

Grant Denyer denies meth addiction

Channel Seven TV presenter Grant Denyer has lashed out at Woman's Day magazine over their claims that he and his wife Chezzi have a $200,000-a-year meth addiction.

According to Woman's Day, the couple told a friend that the couple's addiction had become so extreme it was setting them back $4000 a week and that the pair had checked into rehab.

36-year-old Grant and his wife have admitted they spent time in November at a venue called The Cabin, but deny that it is a rehabilitation clinic. The couple are  reportedly seeking legal advice on taking action against Woman's Day.

Secret file reveals burglaries at site of Madeleine McCann disappearance

The UK's police department, Scotland Yard, has received a secret file from Portuguese police which reveals various burglaries and child sex abuse accounts at the place toddler Madeleine McCann went missing in 2007.

The records show a history of criminal activity at the Praia da Luz resort and reportedly describes countless situations where children were sexually abused by gypsies during burglaries. Scotland Yard are concerned with three burglars who were involved in criminal activity in Luz at the time of Madeleine's kidnapping.

Pissed groom arrested at his own wedding

A minister was forced to cancel a $30,000 wedding over the weekend when the groom turned up drunk to the church ceremony.

40-year-old singer , songwriter, poet and artist Jake Brookes was distraught yesterday, still dressed in his wedding suit and saying 'all I wanted to do was see my woman…I have been dreaming for days and days and days about her beautiful wedding dress.'

Police were forced to arrest Brookes when they were called to Semaphore Uniting Church on Saturday in Exeter, Adelaide. Ten Eyewitness news have reported that his fiancee has called it quits on their relationship.

Last member of the original Von Trapp family dies

The last living member of the real-life Von Trapp family, on which The Sound of Music musical movie was based, has sadly passed away at the age of 99. Maria von Trapp, who was portrayed as character Louisa in the film, died of natural causes in Vermont. She was the third-oldest child in the famous Austrian singing family. Her youngest son Johannes released a statement saying 'thank you for your thoughts. Maria had a wonderful life and while we will miss her, the memories of her will live on.'
