Just two days ago, Kala Brown was found by police officers chained by her neck in a storage container in a North Carolina town two months after she went missing.
Talking to police, the 30-year-old claimed she had witnessed her boyfriend David “Charlie” Carver being murdered by the property owner and registered sex offender, Todd Kohlhepp.
Yesterday, a body was found in a shallow grave, and police have today confirmed that the remains are those of Carver, destroying all hope his loves ones had that he would be found alive.
“We certainly wanted a different outcome than this,” Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright said, according to USA Today.
The coroner is working with an anthropologist to identify how long 32-year-old Carver had been buried.
Ruled a homicide by detectives, his cause of death was several gunshot wounds to the upper body.
Brown said to investigators that up to four bodies could be buried on the property, as police fear they are dealing with a serial killer.
Kohlhepp has not been charged with murder, however, he has been charged with kidnapping Brown, who went missing on August 31.
This isn’t the first time Kohlhepp has been under police surveillance. The 45-year-old was charged with rape of a 14-year-old girl when he was aged 15.

This is just an awful story, I can't imagine what that poor woman is going through. At least they have found her boyfriend's body, it must have been terrible for his family not knowing what had happened.
