The most stylish celebrity mum-to-be has been announced...

And it’s not who you’d expect.

While she might officially be royalty, the Duchess of Cambridge is longer reigning in the fashion stakes.

Kate Middleton has been voted the second most fashionable mum-to-be with Keira Knightly taking out the top spot.

In a British based survey conducted by baby brand My1stYears.com the actress took out a quarter of the votes.

These results has left a few people confused considering the 29-year-old star, who expecting her first child with husband James Righton, was featured in a few "worst dressed" lists for her latest red carpet choices.

"We were surprised that Keira beat Kate in this poll as usually the Duchess is so popular with the nation," said a spokesperson for My1stYears.com.

"However Keira has more than proved herself the top spot with her effortless Chanel chic on the red carpet and with her recent Oscar nomination, we can't wait to see what she wears on the night."

Also on the list is New Girl star Zooey Deschanel, who announced her pregnancy earlier this month.
