7 celebrities who have dated Aussies, that you probably completely forgot about.

One study from 2022 shows us that Australian accents are the sixth most sexy in the world.

Which isn't surprising in the least – because have you heard the way we pronounce 'no'? It's only gone bloody viral on TikTok over and over again... In saying that, there are quite a few celebs who have gone Down Under and fallen for a local Aussie. 

Here are seven A-listers who have dated Australian, that you probably forgot about (or simply just didn't know).

RuPaul and Georges LeBar.

Drag Queen RuPaul Charles first met Australian man Georges LeBar in a nightclub back in 1994. 

"I met Georges on the dance floor at Limelight in New York City, at the disco," he told Oprah in 2013. "He was on the dance floor, dancing like a maniac. I had to go over and say, 'What are you going through?'"

For almost 30 years, Georges is the only person Ru has ever been in a confirmed relationship with. 

"He's so kind and funny," Ru with Buzzfeed in 2015. "I remember praying, 'I want a sweet, sensitive man,' and I got an Australian who's just lovely." 

Georges lives a very private life away from the cameras and is rarely seen away from the pair's 600-acre farm in Wyoming.

Ariana Grande and Jai Brooks.

Jai Brooks, entertainer and one-fifth of the YouTube group The Jonaskians, met Ariana Grande in an unlikely way: By vying for her heart on Twitter.

In 2012, Jai and his identical twin brother Luke started a bet to see who could get the American singer to recognise them first on social media. While she mightn't have seen the posts, her mother did. After watching their videos, she encouraged Ariana to choose one... And she chose Jai who made a video listing all the reasons why they should date one another. 

The pair ended up meeting in New York City from December 2012 to January 2013. They dated on and off until 2014.

Ariana is now married to real estate agent Dalton Gomez and Jai runs a YouTube channel where he discusses his artistry.

Zac Efron and Vanessa Valladares.

Zac Efron and Australian model Vanessa Valladares dated for 10 months after meeting at the Byron Bay General Store & Cafe in June 2020. The pair kept their relationship relatively private – with their only public photos together being paparazzi pictures. 

In April 2021, Kyle Sandilands confirmed their breakup on The Kyle and Jackie O Show – with the radio host noting he's a friend of the actor. 

"Well, it's not just The Daily Telegraph [reporting the breakup]," he said during a segment. "I can also confirm after speaking with him yesterday. Because I heard the rumours.

"They've gone their separate ways," he added. " [There was] no drama. It's done. He's back to work."

Frederik, Crown Prince of Denmark and Princess Mary.

On May 14 of 2004 Prince Frederik, the Prince of Denmark wed Mary from Tasmania and she officially became her Royal Highness The Crown Princess of Denmark. The pair had previously met at a bar in Sydney during the 2000 Olympics and fell in love.

It's been 18 years since and the pair now share four children together; Prince Christian, 17, Princess Isabella, 15, and 11-year-old twins Princess Josephine and Prince Vincent.

Kate Walsh and Andrew Nixon.

Kate Walsh, who had a leading role in Grey's Anatomy, met her fiancé, Andrew Nixon, while on a cruise right before the pandemic hit in 2020. 

The pair spent lockdown together in Perth after Kate made the move to Western Australia. Nixon comes from a prominent farming family, Nixon Farming, in the Moora/New Norcia region. 

Kate announced their engagement on an Instagram Live earlier this year.

Ethan Dolan and Kristina Alice.

Ethan Dolan is one half of the Dolan Twins and rose to prominence in the 2010s alongside his brother, Grayson Dolan. While the duo remain relatively out of the spotlight nowadays, the twins have a combined following of 26.4 million fans across YouTube and Instagram. 

In 2016, Dolan met Kristina Alice, a model from Sydney, Australia. While the timeline of their relationship isn't officially confirmed, the pair began dating around 2018-2019.

Mariah Carey and James Packer.

Singer Mariah Carey and James Packer – who is an Australian billionaire businessman and investor – first met in 2014 at the premiere of Hercules. They didn't go public with their relationship until 2015, and in 2016, James proposed to Mariah with a 35-carat diamond ring.

Sadly, the pair broke up later that same year. In an interview with The Guardian, Mariah said her 2020 memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, would not include James.

"If it was a relationship that mattered, it’s in the book. If not, it didn’t occur," she said, before later adding: "We didn’t have a physical relationship, to be honest with you."

At the time, a source close to Carey told People that "James has not been in a mentally healthy place and has not been present for Mariah or her family. His behaviour was not a desirable situation for Mariah so she, unfortunately, had to leave him." James' representative responded by saying the claims were "simply not true". 

In 2017, he issued a rare statement about the relationship, saying, "I was at a low point in my personal life… She was kind, exciting, and fun. Mariah is a woman of substance. She is very bright. But it was a mistake for her and a mistake for me."
