Giuliana Rancic and her husband Bill have announced they’re expecting their first child together.
“We are so thrilled that our prayers have been answered,” Giuliana said in an interview with E! “We are absolutely ecstatic to be sharing this with everyone who has been following our journey,” Bill said.
It’s well known the reality TV couple have been trying to conceive for a few years, but have faced set set backs including failed IVF treatments, a miscarriage and Giuliana’s battle with breast cancer. Late last year Giuliana underwent a double mastectomy.
The couple are having the baby via a gestational surrogate—which means the baby will their genetic child.

I am so happy for them and cried when I saw this news but after a few days to digest this I feel a little cheated. I'll explain: I have been following this story for a few years now as my husband and I have been trying to conceive for 3 years and I felt that our lives were running parallel. I felt so grateful that Gulianna and bill made their struggle public because it made it easier to deal with friends and families questions and reactions. Now I feel lost because there is no way my husband and I could ever afford this type of intervention and waited for 12 months to afford one round of ivf. I am so happy for g&b but my heart breaks just a little that the hope they represented is tarnished.
Very very happy for them. Australians do have the option of gestational surrogacy.
