37 years ago, Catherine O'Hara met her husband on the set of Beetlejuice.

With all the wholesome cast interviews and nostalgic fashion moments that the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice press junket has brought us, there are still few things giving us more life than the iconic Catherine O'Hara and her relationship with her husband, Bo Welch.

At the UK premiere for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, O'Hara was asked how it felt to be finally sharing the film with audiences and she turned the attention to her long-standing relationship with her husband, paying homage to how they met on that very set 37 years ago.

"It's really exciting to be here with my husband who designed the first Beetlejuice. His name's Bo Welch," she proudly told The Upcoming. These two are too cute to handle!

The couple have also been spotted on various red carpets, including the most recent Venice Film Festival 2024 promoting the new film. While Welch is not involved in the sequel, we love to see a man supporting his wife in all her endeavours.

Now it's 2024 and with the release of the Beetlejuice sequel it feels like such a special moment for these two lovers.

We know the world is obsessed with O'Hara. From Schitt's Creek to Home Alone and of course, Beetlejuice and The Crows Have Eyes III: The Crowening. Actually that last one was Moira Rose, her character from Schitt's Creek (if you know, you know).

She is a true icon. But her husband is an impressive filmmaker in his own right. Or more accurately, he is an Oscar-nominated production designer.

Best known for his production design work on films like Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, Batman Returns and Men in Black, Welch has truly made a name for himself in the industry.

His production design work on 1985's The Colour Purple also earned him his first 4 Oscar nominations.

Aside from production design, Welch has also dipped his toe in the directing pool, with films like 2003's The Cat in the Hat and episodes of A Series of Unfortunate Events, for which he received an Emmy nomination.

As far as workplace romances go, is there really anything more special and truthfully speaking, unhinged, than being match-made by Tim Burton himself?

The two did indeed meet on the set of Burton's Beetlejuice back in 1987. And O'Hara has confirmed that the famed director did in fact have a hand in their getting together.

In April 2023, when chatting to Etalk, O'Hara asked if there was one project she’d done that was particularly special to her and she said, "On a personal level, Beetlejuice because I met my husband on Beetlejuice… Tim Burton made him ask me out."

After filming wrapped and O'Hara moved to LA to be with Welch, the two made things official by getting married in April 1992. Shortly after the two started their own family, with their oldest son Matthew being born in 1994, and their younger son, Luke, being born in 1997.

Despite the high-profile nature of both of their jobs, Both O'Hara and Welch have made a conscious effort to keep their personal lives relatively private, including keeping their sons out of the lime-light. Though, the few times O'Hara has spoken about her children publicly, you can tell they have taken after her comedy chops.

"They're very funny, and we encourage it," she told The Star in 2007, "The older one does Warners cartoon bits, really old-fashioned, cheap-a–funny vaudeville stuff. And the little one does world play."

While this beautiful couple has been going strong for 37 years, they too have experienced their fair share of challenges.

"We've been through some dangerous times in our marriage, and thank God we both just really wanted to work on it and stay married," O'Hara shared with PEOPLE in January 2024.

"I have friends who've been divorced and one of them really wanted to work on it and the other didn't. And you just can’t win. You can't do anything that way. But thank God we both wanted to, when we went through rough times."

Celebs, they're just like us.
