She’s renowned for being classy and dignified, yet even Cate Blanchett can’t hold back from openly criticising new U.S. President Donald Trump.
It’s not his presidency she’s mocking – instead, Blanchett took aim at his manhood and business acumen.
It was during a segment on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that the normally poised actress took aim. The segment called ‘Emotional Interview’ involves a regular interview, but every time the bell “dings” Fallon and his celebrity guest have to act out an emotion as they talk.
At first they exchanged meaningless platitudes as “ex’s bumping into each other” and then it was during the “gives bad advice” part of the segment that Trump copped it, big time.
Fallon began by giving bad advice on money management, suggesting to Blanchett she take all the money out of her savings account and “go bet on a race horse”, but Blanchett did one better, suggesting she “give to Trump”.
The Trump-roast continued with Blanchett saying, “Give it to Trump, I mean how many times has he been bankrupt?”
Then, during "using too many metaphors" Blanchett added, “I’m on stage at the moment doing something about midlife crises. It’s absurd and ridiculous, almost as absurd and ridiculous as a man who has filed for corporate bankruptcy four times who is running the largest economy in the world.”
Later in the interview, while moulding a small piece of clay which took on a phallic appearance, Blanchett said that a tiny little penis is an appropriate symbol for America at the moment, "with tiny little balls".

Kids are off-limits. Despite my personal abhorrence of Trump, I think bringing his young son into it was out-of-line and he should be left alone. He'll have enough issues growing up with DT as his father without having to deal with being mocked in the press. That was horrible.
