She’s renowned for being classy and dignified, yet even Cate Blanchett can’t hold back from openly criticising new U.S. President Donald Trump.
It’s not his presidency she’s mocking – instead, Blanchett took aim at his manhood and business acumen.
It was during a segment on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that the normally poised actress took aim. The segment called ‘Emotional Interview’ involves a regular interview, but every time the bell “dings” Fallon and his celebrity guest have to act out an emotion as they talk.
At first they exchanged meaningless platitudes as “ex’s bumping into each other” and then it was during the “gives bad advice” part of the segment that Trump copped it, big time.
Fallon began by giving bad advice on money management, suggesting to Blanchett she take all the money out of her savings account and “go bet on a race horse”, but Blanchett did one better, suggesting she “give to Trump”.
The Trump-roast continued with Blanchett saying, “Give it to Trump, I mean how many times has he been bankrupt?”

I'm a Cate fan and am always impressed by her demeanor but - Hello ? ACCENT ?....lol.........
Well, I guess she IS in the USA doing a Tonight show.
As for any criticism of Trump - I'm all for it.
The guy's more than a narcissist & an ignoramus.
He's actually dangerous.
Just hope that he & his team are impeached before he does anything seriously screwy.
Don't forget racist and homophobic! He's literally Hitler right?
You lose. Godwin's Law.
Was quoting the hysterical Left, they lost. Hey, Barron is white male, why not jump aboard the team of the compassionates and give him a nice put down as others do?
Kids are off-limits. Despite my personal abhorrence of Trump, I think bringing his young son into it was out-of-line and he should be left alone. He'll have enough issues growing up with DT as his father without having to deal with being mocked in the press. That was horrible.
She forgot to mention his tiny hands
Same hands who signed the order restricting abortion funding, with more to come. Welcome to the reality he is the President.
But on the other side, if you think progress is playing the man, you're far from alone.
He scares me. I predict global unrest and displacement and conflict unseen since 1939. John Hopkins' top psychotherapist has analysed him with "malignant narcissism".
