The brothel madam who employed Cassie Sainsbury has shed light on the accused drug smuggler’s experience while working at 220 Gentleman’s Club in Sydney’s west.
Pamela Feranchi told The Daily Telegraph the 22-year-old had been “depressed” while at the Kingswood club in the months before she was caught allegedly attempting to traffic 5.8kg of cocaine in Colombia.
The Adelaide woman went by the name ‘Claudia’ and advertised herself as “19 years old… classy, fun and ready to please”, but Feranchi said she was not very popular with clients.

What stands out the most about this - as no judgement about her choice to become a sex worker - is there is a pattern of having a very loose relationship with the truth. To me, that is most telling for what is happening now. It increases doubts in my mind around her innocence, as she has demonstrated with her sex worker colleagues that she will bend the truth to get the outcome she wants. He Uncle has also suggested she does not face up to the consequences of her choices. Possibly she has got what she wanted so many times by lying, she just took it further and further, and thought she could pull off smuggling drugs, and if caught, would successfully lie her way out of it again. Not a nice situation for her, or her loved ones to be in, as she's facing very big and real consequences this time.
