Goodness. This season of The Bachelorette has been a weird time.
First, Angie Kent’s brother, Bradley, entered the mansion on night one as a contestant (an undercover one, but… still). Second, there was a person named Jess – who was allegedly a local politician in Noosa – who found it funny to flirt with female crew members and say things such as “Don’t mind me if I get some wandering fingers” to Angie.
Honestly. We don’t know what the hell has happened to the mansion this season.
But hold on to your roses because apparently The Bachelorette is about to get weirder.
Side note… Angie Kent came into the Mamamia office to talk to our Bachie superfan, Elise. Post continues after video.
There has reportedly been a (legal) drug-taking scandal and it involves two unexpected contestants: front-runners Ciarran and Carlin.
On Monday, Woman’s Day reported that a “source” has told the publication that producers found vials of melanin – a legal drug in Australia that one can inject to darken the colour of their skin – in the mansion.
According to the publication, who emphasises there is no inference that the men took illegal substances, the producers “confiscated” the vials upon discovery.
Yes, this theory is completely uncorroborated which makes it perhaps dubious. But it’s also worth acknowledging… tabloid magazines actually have an impressive record when it comes to spoiling the imminent plot lines of local TV shows.

What is wild about legal drugs?!?
Right? Most boring 'drug scandal' ever. Next thing it will be horror because someone took an aspirin.
Teeth whitener perhaps?
Mouthwash scandal! It was awful, they were all just so minty fresh!
There's a twist. It was nurofen for an inflamed ego.
