Anna Kendrick. Gwen Stefani. James Corden.
Those are just a few of the famous faces that feature in Justin Timberlake‘s new video, which was released on Thursday night on iTunes.
Can’t Stop The Feeling, JT’s first song in three years, has already been deemed a strong “song of the summer contender” and “the feel-good summertime anthem you’ve been waiting for.” By yesterday, it had already topped iTunes’ singles chart.
Get ready to be hearing a lot of this tune.
Timberlake and the A-list friends featured in the video (which also include Kunal Nayyar, Ronald Funches, and Icona Pop) will be starring in the upcoming DreamWorks animated feature Trolls.
Can’t Stop The Feeling will be the film’s lead single and according to a statement, JT “will oversee all creative direction for the film’s music as well as perform multiple songs on the soundtrack.”
Zooey Deschanel’s voice will also feature in the film, which is expected to be relieved in November.
Gwen Stefani is just one of several celebrity pals who appear in the new video.
It's rumoured the song may also signal the imminent arrival of a solo album from Timberlake, "who has peppered social media recently with photos of himself working with his old collaborators Pharrell Williams and Timbaland, along with the members of the country group Little Big Town," the Los Angeles Times points out.
Anna Kendrick also features in the video.
There's a good reason Justin's been quiet since completing his multi-part "20/20 Experience" project in 2013: He's been busy with family life, having welcomed son Silas with wife Jessica Biel on April 8, 2015.
