Food blogger Phoodie has shared a recipe for a very decadent Easter treat. And the best part is, it’s easy as one, two three. Seriously.
This scrumptious creation only contains three ingredients.
All you need is:
- 400g Milk Chocolate.
- 395g Condensed Milk.
- 500g Cadbury creme eggs.
Of course you can substitute that final ingredient for your favourite, vaguely spherical confection. Malteasers, Jaffas. M&Ms… the list is virtually endless.
According to the glorious Phoodie, here’s what you have to do:
- Line a 20cm square cake tin with baking paper.
- Set aside approximately ½ cup of Creme Eggs.
- Combine the milk chocolate with the condensed milk in a pan over medium heat. Stir regularly ensuring that the fudge does not stick to the base of the pan and that the ingredients are properly incorporated.
- Take the pan off the heat, allow to cool for a minute and then and add 350g Creme eggs to the fudge. Stir them through gently.
- Pour the fudge into the cake tin, scatter the remaining 150g Creme Eggs over the top of the fudge and set in the fridge for a minimum of 6 hours or overnight.
- Cut into squares and serve!

When will this obsession with chocolate at Easter end? I get the chocolate Easter eggs. But the chocolate hot cross buns, chocolate cakes, slices etc are just too much!
I'm surprised people aren't making chocolate simnel cake, but I suspect that is because of ignorance rather than people taking a stand and deciding this food item is rich enough without chocolate.
I won't even dwell on the fact that the Cadbury creme eggs are so sickly sweet that they are nearly inedible.
They're too much...for you. They're nearly inedible...for you
Why be a grinch? Let people eat what they want to eat. Nobody is forcing chocolate down your throat (and if they are, that's a crime and you should probably call the police)
Does it work with dark chocolate?
Of course it would, it will just taste different that's all.
I just asked because the sugar, fat and solids ratio is different in dark choc and I thought it might affect texture or the ability of the fudge to set.
