The remains of a Brisbane City Council bus driver who was killed on the job last week are being taken back to India today.
Manmeet Alisher, 29, died after he was set alight at a bus stop at Moorooka a week ago.
Eleven passengers were rescued by a taxi driver as smoke filled the bus.
Mr Alisher’s death shocked the community and led to a number of memorials.
His brother, Amit, is taking the remains home for cremation.
Mr Alisher’s friends said his soul would now find peace.
Anthony Mark Edward O’Donohue, 48, has been charged with the bus driver’s murder, as well as arson and 11 counts of attempted murder.
O’Donohue was remanded in custody after appearing in court last month.
He is due to appear in court again in December.
