With an unprecedented spike in babies, weddings, childhood revelations, law suits and adora-bubble vintage Gosling videos this week, we were worried that Lala-land wouldn’t be able to cope and would just implode in a puff of People Magazine covers and Twitter bikini selfies. But it didn’t. Thank goodness. Because that means that we can bring you this:
Here’s a little something from Mamamia Today host Em Rusciano….
On Friday the FOXfm breakfast show ‘Matt and Jo’ had Delta Goodrem on as a guest. She is currently doing the rounds to promote her new album Child Of The Universe.
Along with music talk the chat invariably turned to ex-fiancee Brian McFadden. While Delta hasn’t directly discussed her break up Brain the album is apparently full of lyrics referring to traumatic break-ups.
Eg: “Go and live your life, find another wife.”
And…
“I am broken; there’s a stranger on the phone, something is missing from seven years ago,”. (They were together for 7 years.)
Matt brought to Delta’s attention a tweet Brian’s new wife Vogue sent out into the inter webs last night which appeared to be a response to the song lyrics..
“You say you don’t want to discuss your personal life so DON’T!! but please stop using it to promote yourself it’s embarrassing … #fake” Vogue wrote.
Matt asked Delta how she felt about that tweet and Delta’s response was, well it was EPIC.
Ch ch check it out:
Adele announced her pregnancy in June, and this week she welcomed a baby boy into the world. A family source confirmed to PEOPLE on Monday that Adele and her boyfriend, Simon Konecki, are now parents.
The baby’s name is yet to be announced. But we’d like to call him Pavement. So, then, when she’s running after him in the park she can sing: “Should I give up? Or should I just keep chasing Pavement?” And all will be right in the world.
Check out our Adele gallery below:
In other baby news:
- Tom Ford announced that he and his partner have become happy fathers to Alexander, born via surrogate in Los Angeles.
- Channel 9 presenter Livinia Nixon has announced she’s expecting her second baby with husband, Alistair Jack. Her first child, Henry is 2-and-a-half
See our gallery of recent baby arrivals below:
Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel married in Italy last weekend. But they kept us on our toes until Thursday for the only thing we all care about anyway: the dress. It’s definitely not your typical wedding photo, either. For a start – Jessica Biel is wearing a pink dress. A custom, petal pink Giambattista Valli Haute Couture Gown to be precise. And Justin is jumping. Very high in the air.
Take a look:
According to PEOPLE, Justin played the guitar and serenaded his bride-to-be as she walked down the aisle. “It was an original piece I wrote specifically for the evening and for her,” he said.
Nawwww. We’re still upset we didn’t get an invitation.
Hugh Jackman has opened up about his painful childhood – causing women everywhere to melt and then ponder how much they’d like to cuddle him. The 44-year-old actor revealed in an interview with Australian Women’s Weekly that his mother, Grace Watson, walked out on his family when he was just eight. She left Australia for the UK and only broke the news to her five children via telegram.
This from the Daily Mail:
One of the main things I remember is that horrible feeling that people were talking about you and looking at you because it was odd for the mother to leave,’ he told the Australian Women’s Weekly.
He was ’12 or 13′ when it dawned on him that his mother would never return home.
Still, Jackman never questioned his mother’s love for him.
‘The thing I never felt – and I know this might sound strange – I never felt that my mum didn’t love me,’ he explained. I’ve spoken about it at length with her since and I know she was struggling. She was in hospital after I was born suffering from post-natal depression. There wasn’t a support network for her here.’
Oh Hugh. We honestly love him and are considering a kidnap scenario where we force him to reenact the love-making in the outback scene from Australia with us, in order to be set free from any residual pain.
(And here is a gallery of the man for all of us to enjoy):
Tom Cruise has filed a US$50 million lawsuit against two magazines owned by Bauer (the company who recently bought Australia’s ACP magazines) – Life & Style and In Touch – over reports that he has “abandoned” his daughter Suri.
Cruise filed the lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles over In Touch’s July 30th cover story (“Suri in Tears: Abandoned by Her Dad”) and In Touch’s Oct. 1 issue which contained similar allegations.
From the New York Daily News:
“Tom doesn’t go around suing people,” Bert Fields (Cruise’s rep) said in a statement. “He’s not a litigious guy. But when these sleaze peddlers try to make money with disgusting lies about his relationship with his child, you bet he’s going to sue.”
Hey girl, do you want to see a 12-year-old Ryan Gosling? OF COURSE YOU DO. Because he is adorable. And he says “aboot” instead of “about”. Cute little Canadian that he is.
Ryan had just won a coveted role on the Mickey Mouse Club, alongside other child stars like Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears when he recorded this interview. And apparently, he wasn’t as talented as the others.
He told Interview Magazine in 2010:
“It was kind of depressing because when I got there, they realized that I wasn’t really up to snuff in comparison with what some of the other kids were able to do. I remember one time they put four of us in a dance routine, but I was so off. I was on the end, so they just pushed the shot in closer on the other three guys to frame me out. I would just come in at the beginning of the show and then come back at the end, and occasionally I’d have a sketch here or there, but I didn’t end up working that much, which was disheartening.”
The times in which we wished we were a) 12 years old and b) had a time and space machine, are rare. But, this is so one of those times.
Don’t worry Ryan, we can help you to feel so much better “aboot” yourself. Call us! While we wait, we’ll just look at this Gosling gallery:
And because it’s a weekend, we KNOW that you’re missing your daily dose of Mamamia Today (stream it live here at 3pm everyday.) But, never fear MMers – we have a fabulous gallery of Em Rusciano’s amazing wardrobe choices to tide you over until Monday:

Delta's response is a classic!
What's that old saying - "Don't Get Mad, Get Even" :-)
A few years ago when she had multiple songs charting off the roof at the same time, she performed for me at a private gig. She was so popular at the time I was expecting a diva.
Not so! She gave a brilliant performance, was extremely nice, funny, savvy and super classy - apparently she hasn't lost it.
Oh my photo #10 in the Hugh gallery is... Oh My.
