He was The Hills cast member every noughties teenager had a crush on.
And if you say you didn’t secretly long for Brody Jenner’s tumultuous relationships with Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavarelli not to work out so he would remain single – you’re lying.
Now, appearing on The Hills: New Beginnings, Brody’s life looks vastly different from what it did all those years ago.
For starters, he’s married to fellow The Hills: New Beginnings cast member and influencer Kaitlynn Carter.
But before he makes a family of his own, Brody has touched on his own upbringing, being the son of Olympic gold medallist and reality star Caitlyn Jenner.
And according to Brody, their relationship has long been complicated.
“I didn’t really grow up with my dad,” Brody admitted on the reboot of the iconic faux-reality show this week.
“When I was really little, we got to spend a little bit of time. But when he started the family with the Kardashian family and all that, I didn’t really see much of him.”
Brody later added that his father was absent throughout his childhood, having missed his graduation and most of his birthdays.
Though they became closer in later years, Brody explained that the two of them became distant once again after Bruce transitioned to Caitlyn in 2015.
“I was just getting to know Bruce, and then Bruce became Caitlyn,” Brody admitted.
“Caitlyn is a totally different person than Bruce. It’s her true self, but Bruce was always holding a lot back and being somebody totally different.
“My dad, she’s like a 15-year-old girl now. She’s totally different – I mean, it’s awesome. It’s great. She’s happy, she’s running around. She’s off living her life, so what I’ve learned is to just not expect too much from her.”

Brody Jenner is the son of Caitlyn Jenner and her first wife, Linda Thompson – the woman she was married to before she met her third wife, Kris Jenner.
Caitlyn and Kris went on to have two children – Kylie and Kendall. Kris already had Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and Rob from her marriage to Robert Kardashian.
This makes Brody half-siblings with Kylie and Kendall, and step siblings with Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and Rob.
Brandon Jenner – whose parents are also Caitlyn Jenner and Linda Thompson – is Brody’s full brother, but he also has half-siblings in Burt Jenner and Cassandra Jenner, who are from Caitlyn’s first marriage to Chrystie Scott.
Brody, 35, has also had a tense relationship with Kris Jenner over the years, which was broadcast to the world during season 8 of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Throughout the season, Kris and Brody appeared to butt heads fairly regularly.
In 2015, with Caitlyn’s transition and her divorce from Kris well underway, he says things became even more strained.
Speaking to The Mirror, he said:
"Kris and I don't speak. We just don't speak. It has nothing to do with me actively disliking her. I think she's just busy. Anyway, I have a mother who I speak to. I don't need two of them."
At the time, he insisted that his relationship with the rest of the Kardashians was perfectly fine in spite of their parents’ divorce:
"I grew up with them – of course they are my sisters. Even though our parents are divorced doesn't mean I don't see them that way anymore. I've known them for a really long time."
Less than a year later, however, Brody reportedly said that the Kardashians weren’t his family.
The Daily Mail reported in 2016 that Brody was angered by someone who had congratulated him on the Kardashians' success, responding: “They're not my f*cking family.”
And this year, he told Us Weekly that he never sees the family.
“Everybody’s kind of doing their own thing now, since my dad and Kris split up.”
When Brody married his wife Kaitlynn last year, none of Kardashians were invited.
