The body of a 15-year-old boy who was reported missing has been found on the Northern Beaches.
Brody Hurst was last seen at a shop on Barrenjoey Road in Newport about 5.30pm on Thursday.
The boy’s mother, Christeena Hurst, wrote on Facebook that her son “left his bright green pushbike” by a nearby beach and had not returned home, sparking an urgent search for the boy on Thursday night.
“This is very out of character. Please help us find him,” she wrote earlier this morning.
Tragically, News.com reports that NSW Police have confirmed his body was found by police at 9am this morning, half an hour from where he was last sighted.
Early inquiries indicate the death is not suspicious.
Messages of support have flooded the original post, mourning the tragic loss of the young boy.
“I hope you and your family are surrounded by loving and supportive friends at this time and that you can take some comfort from the messages here,” wrote one Facebook user.
“Please know you have the collect arms of the community of the Northern Beaches and further afield wrapping their arms around you wanting to give you support and love in any way that we can,” wrote another.
