The radio ratings are in and the team at ARN might regret sacking Robin Bailey.

One month after her sacking, it has been revealed the breakfast radio show Robin Bailey hosted alongside Terry Hansen and Bob Gallagher was Brisbane’s most popular morning program.

The final Commercial Radio Australia survey of the year saw the Robin, Terry and Bob Show climb to a 13.1 per cent audience share, while Nova’s Ash, Kip and Luttsy slipped to 12.2 per cent, and ABC’s Spencer Howson came in at 11.9.

Bailey’s highly publicised departure from the network where she worked for over a decade “blindsided” the radio veteran, and is a decision 97.3FM may now come to regret.

While the station chose to replace the mother-of-three with GOLD FM’s Bianca Dye, the network’s fiercest rivals at Nova will go into 2017 unchanged.

Last week, Bailey revealed to Mamamia she will be joining Triple M’s Greg Martin and Ed Kavalee, a move she calls “a dream come true”.

“My boys have been walking round the house whispering to me, ‘Triple M!’,” she said.

“These are new chapters with new beginnings and lots to learn… There’ll be a new way of doing things but I am still doing what I love, and what’s in my blood. I’m so grateful that I’m still talking to Brisbane.”

While ARN said Bailey leaving was the result of being unable to “agree to terms”, the media personality said this was untrue.

“This was not a joint decision and I certainly saw my future with Brisbane’s 97.3FM, a place that has been my home and my solace for so many years.”

Another notable change to the radio landscape in Brisbane is the departure of breakfast king Howson, who will be replaced by regional newshound Craig Zonka.

It is a shame to see her go, but there are 2 other people in that team who might like to think they had something to do with the ratings results too. Just saying ...

I was so sad when I found out 97.3 had let go of Robyn, the 3 of them together were fantastic and the show won't be the same without her!
