Believe it or not, it’s been 19 years since Bring It On came out. Yep, let that marinate in your brain for a moment.
The year was 2000. Depending where you were in life, you were wearing butterfly clips from Sabrina the Teenage Witch magazine, rocking flared tencel jeans with your first Siemens mobile in your pocket, or attending the Sydney Olympics without a care in the world about terrorism.
And along with many an exciting millennium trends came a humble movie about rival cheerleading squads from opposite sides of the tracks competing for the ultimate title.
To celebrate, original cast members Kirsten Dunst, Eliza Dushku, Jesse Bradford and Gabrielle Union spoke with Entertainment Weekly this month about how the film was a surprise success and inevitably changed their lives forever.
So much so, Union said Dunst was the only actress on the film not worried about ending up “back in the unemployment line” after filming wrapped. Thankfully, the movie was a hit and still remains an absolute classic.
Thanks to Instagram and LinkedIn, here's where the original Bring It On cast are now in 2019 .
Kirsten Dunst as Torrance Shipman
After a brief hiatus, Dunst has most recently featured in Hidden Figures, The Beguiled and Season Two of FX's Fargo. She's also engaged to her Fargo co-star, Jesse Plemons. The couple welcomed their first child, Ennis Howard Plemons, in 2018.
When recently interviewed on the In-Depth With Larry Flick show, the actress said she begrudges always being known as the cheerleader.
"For me, I feel like a lot of things I do people like later. And also, I've never been recognized in my industry. I've never been nominated for anything. Maybe like, twice for a Golden Globe when I was little and one for Fargo. I always feel like nobody—I don't know, maybe they just think I'm the girl from Bring It On."
Eliza Dushku as Missy Pantone
Dushku is currently in the industry as an actor, writer, and producer. She features regularly at Comic Con conventions for her role as Faith in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and is also an outspoken anti-Trump activist.
In 2018, she married former American tennis player, Peter Palandjian. She gave birth to their first child, Philip Dushku Palandjian in August, 2019.
Jesse Bradford as Cliff Pantone
Torrance's fresh-faced love interest has appeared on a couple episodes of Shooter, starring Ryan Phillippe, and independent film, The Year of Spectacular Men. Judging by his Instagram account, Bradford is also one of many celebrities using their platform to fight racism in the US.
Gabrielle Union as Isis
Union, now Union-Wade, continues to work as an actress, having starred in Ugly Betty, Think Like A Man, and most recently, Being Mary Jane.
She's also released a fashion collection with New York & Company, and is married to Chicago Bulls NBL player, Dwyane Wade. They welcomed their first child, Kaavia James, via surrogate in 2018.
How she hasn't aged a day in 19 years is also under investigation.
Lindsay Sloane as Big Red
Sloane's most recent role is that of mum-of-two, with the Sabrina the Teenage Witch star giving birth to her second daughter to husband, Dar Rollins, in 2017.
Clare Kramer as Courtney
Kramer is also a Buffy alum, and is directed the Kickstarter documentary, Joyrider, about wheelchair athlete André Kajlich, who was the first solo hand cyclist to compete in the Race Across America. She's also a mum of four.
Nicole Bilderback as Whitney
Aside from appearing in many an early 2000's movie and TV show (Dawson's Creek, Buffy, Dark Angel, Clueless, Sabrina the Teenage Witch), Bilderback is the Studio Director of Booty Works Fitness, a boutique fitness studio in California.
