Who to have in the room when you give birth is one of the many very personal decisions all mums will make.
Heavily pregnant superstar Beyonce and her partner Shawn Carter, aka Jay Z, have reportedly decided their five-year-old daughter Blue Ivy should be there to witness the birth of their twins.
The Daily Star reports the couple even plans to dress their daughter in a nurse’s uniform, having her there so she doesn’t feel left out.
Listen: The Hello Bump team discuss birth plans and what they should include.
While many fans think it’s a sweet idea, The Project co-host Carrie Bickmore seemed a little unconvinced when the panel discussed Beyonce’s birth plan on Tuesday night.
“Buy her a toy or something. (The experience will) scar the poor thing for life,” Carrie laughed.
Co-host Peter Helliar had a different take on the idea, saying he thought it was a “good move” by the parents “to remind your child of what you went through”.
He suggested Carrie might even want “share the video” of the births of her children Ollie, nine, and Evie, two, with them one day.
But the 36-year-old wasn’t having it, instead saying only, “it’s imprinted in my mind.”
Would you want your kids to watch you give birth? Why/why not?
