It’s very personal.
Blake Lively has revealed why she chose the name James for her baby daughter. The 27-year-old spoke to ABC News and said that it was a family name.
“And I liked having a boys name so I thought I’d pass it on,” she told the ABC host.
When asked what the one piece of advice is that she would pass on to her daughter it was this, “I’d tell her don’t let anyone tell you no. If something hasn’t been done before it doesn’t mean it can’t be done,” she told the host.
“You can be the first one, and it’s always empowering to see that,” she added.
Earlier this year, Ryan Reynolds finally confirmed the news we had all been impatiently waiting for. The name of his daughter with Blake Lively, who they called James.
Almost instantaneously there were shouts all across social media… “But that’s a boys name!” And there my friends, is where Blake and Ryan have started a baby naming trend for 2015.
Boys names are the news girls names. You heard it here first.
And while they’re not the first in Hollywood to do it, we suspect they’ll be making a biiiiiig come back. We might even start to come across boys named Crystal, Lisa and Rose… or maybe not.
But in the mean time, check out these celebrity girls names who we traditionally thought were only reserved for boys.
