Bindi Irwin has nailed Dancing’s holy grail. Even if you don’t know what the hell a plie is, you know about the moment in Dirty Dancing when Patrick Swayze lifts Jennifer Grey up over his head and everyone has the time of their lives.
Bindi recreated the iconic Dirty Dancing Lift on live TV with her Dancing with the Stars partner Derek Hough:
The young wildlife warrior is currently a contestant on the 29,303th US series of Dancing With the Stars.
Bindi and Hough, now a DWTS veteran, made their debut on the show last month when they performed a jive to Elton John’s Crocodile Rock.
The pair have been practicing their new show-stopping move throughout the last week in the lead up to tonight’s episode. And even went to a lake, just like Johnny and Baby, to practice:
And here we were thinking Ryan Gosling was the only other bloke who could do what Patrick Swayze did:

Having done that lift I can tell you it takes a hell of a lot of core body strength from the person being lifted! And it is actually harder in water - although the fall is much easier when you are learning.
