Think you’d never dress like Bianca Censori? You already are.

Every time Bianca Censori leaves the house, her outfits get a bit more risqué.

Her latest, which we can't show here because of our policy around publishing paparazzi photos, is a completely transparent long-sleeved top with sheer underpants and ballet flats.

The wife of Kanye West (now legally known as "Ye") regularly chooses barely-there looks since she married the disgraced rapper in December 2022.

Her fashion choices make headlines, the pictures quickly doing the rounds of the internet.

Our jaws drop, we move on. Next. This is a woman who once clutched a hotel pillow to her chest and called it an outfit - right?

But if you think Censori's outfits are just a publicity stunt, you may want to look at your own wardrobe — or at least the clothes being worn by the influencers you follow. Because over the past 18 months, she's started more trends than you might realise.

If you've recently found yourself adding a semi-sheer skirt to cart, or thought about going braless under a tank top, you can probably thank Bianca Censori for the inspiration.

At first glance, what she wears looks outrageous; even laughable — until it eventually beds itself into the collective consciousness and we all get cosy with it. She was once the "Head of Architecture" at Yeezy, after all, so she understands how to execute a vision.

Think about the iconic "cerulean blue" scene from The Devil Wears Prada, where Miranda Priestley lectures Andy Sachs on how trends trickle down to the masses.

The hosiery trend is an excellent case in point.

Since she was first seen with Ye, Censori has been photographed in almost every iteration of a see-through bodystocking you can think of. She was famously papped in LA in early 2023 wearing a t-shirt, black tights and no shoes, and while it left onlookers (and the media) scratching their heads, it was just the start of the great stocking resurgence.

In February, Saint Laurent showed an entire Autumn-Winter collection at Paris Fashion Week consisting of clothes made of sheer hosiery-like material.

The trickle effect of sheer clothing has been steady, but the trend could now be considered mainstream.

Transparent skirts are available at Zara, sold in sets with matching nude briefs. Search "sheer skirt" or "sheer shirt" on TikTok and you'll find hundreds of videos showing how to style these garments using high street finds.

If Censori's latest outing, her breasts completely visible, seems like her most daring look yet, then you've missed the free the nipple movement happening in Hollywood and fashion circles.

At the Saint Laurent show, Zoe Kravitz and Olivia Wilde went braless in see-through tops. Wilde even posted the uncensored look on her Instagram.

Kendall Jenner's going sans bra. Julia Fox is, too, and of course there's Florence Pugh.

Skims even came out with their viral push-up bra with a "built-in raised nipple detail for a perky, braless look".

Some have taken the trend further, like Katy Perry, who debuted a dramatically different look at the Balenciaga Couture show in June. The singer went topless under a long faux fur overcoat, with black stockings complete with ladders that blended into heels. The effect was of going shoeless.

Blink and you might've thought she was Censori herself, with her dark oversized sunglasses and scraped-back hair.

It wouldn't be reaching to say her style makeover seems to be at least partly informed by the looks we've seen Censori wear on the street; from her penchant for faux fur to the low-slung tights she's often seen in.

Whether Censori was the inspiration or simply a reference on a stylist's moodboard, you have to give her some credit for ushering in a new wave of "naked dressing".

But how much of this aesthetic is controlled by Ye?

Censori is certainly not the first "muse" of the musician and fashion designer to embody a sort of real life dress-up doll. There was Amber Fox, then Kim Kardashian, then Julia Fox. All experienced a fashion transformation after being linked with Ye. All cited having collaborative relationships with him when it came to honing their personal style, however some have accused Ye of using fashion as a way to control Censori.

We know very little about Australian-born Censori. She's made no comments to the media. There are no known social media accounts in her name — only fan accounts that share and obsessed over her every outfit.

We do know that Censori is part of the process of bringing her looks to life. And we now have some idea of how this happens.

According to Page Six, there is a "whole atelier in Italy" responsible for her clothes, many of which are refashioned Wolford stockings.

"She has a lot of say in what she wants to wear," London-based designer Mowalola Ogunesi, who headed up Ye's Yeezy Gap collaboration, told the publication.

"Everything Bianca is wearing is really from her and Ye's brain... they want to show people that you can do this yourself. It’s stuff that’s attainable (like) tights."

"They just buy tights and style it and cut it on (Censori)."

Another designer who has worked for Ye, and asked to remain anonymous, added that the outfits are created by the in-house team "in a day".

"Anything he wants to make they can make it. He's really just making it on the spot," the designer added.

Which explains the, er, brief nature of the clothes.

So yes — it's true that Bianca Censori barely wears clothing. But what she does wear has power.
