You might think being a celebrity’s personal assistant is a dream job. Heading to the Oscars, meeting famous people on a daily basis, getting hand-me-down designer clothes. There are obviously a lot of perks. But, like any job, there are negatives as well.
For starters, you’ve basically got to be comfortable with being invisible. And don’t even think about putting your Instagram on public. If you have a public profile, people will start to recognise you when you’re running errands for your boss. Picking up a pregnancy test (if needed) turns into a huge media story if people know your face. And of course, when you’re accompanying your boss on the Grammys red carpet, you can’t take away from her ridiculously insane outfit.
Beyonce’s personal assistant, Sam Greenberg, was one of these blend-into-the-background invisible workers. That is, until she agreed to be profiled by Vogue. Have fun keeping your privacy now, Sam.
