After weeks of waiting, we may finally know the names of Beyonce's twins.

Weeks after giving birth under a veil of privacy and secrecy, we may finally now know the names of Beyonce’s twins.

According to TMZ, trademark applications were filed for “Rumi Carter” and “Sir Carter” by BGK Trademark Holdings as a means of protecting the names. BGK Trademark Holdings also happens to be the same company that owns the trademarks to Beyoncé and JAY-Z’s names.

It’s believed the legal documents were filed on Friday.

If reports are to be believed, Rumi and Sir will be baby siblings for five-year-old Blue Ivy.

The news comes over a week after TMZ also reported the twins were born prematurely and remained “under the lights” for treatment of jaundice, according to sources close to the family.

The ‘lights’ refer to ‘bili lights’, which act as a form of phototherapy involving shining blue fluorescent light onto bare skin at a specific wavelength.

Jaundice is a condition common to premature babies caused by an excess of bilirubin, created when the body replaces old red blood cells with new ones.

This build up manifests as a yellow colouring of the skin and eyes, and although dangerous if left untreated, is usually treatable.

Neither Beyonce nor JAY-Z have commented publicly on the birth of the twins.

I think "Sir" is pretty pretentious and bit ghetto actually, I'm surprised they can use such a word as a first name.

I'm sure they are already trying to trademark it. All class.

Fortunately it's on the banned list in Australia along with any title names (ie lord lady admiral commander but not sure about saint)

Phew. Finally. No more sleepless nights.

It's a bit bogan to give a child a name that will (very) theoretically pre-destine them for greatness, though I reckon I've got a better one than 'Sir'.

Magna.

Magna Carter.

Why did I just read that in a Sean Connery accent?
