Every morning, I brace for a stand-off with my underwear drawer.
For the past three years, I’ve been wearing the same stretched-out, off-coloured undies I bought to the hospital to wear after birth (I’m still technically postpartum even three years on, right?).
Actually, calling them undies would be an insult to underwear everywhere — at this stage, they’re just rags I pull on under my yoga pants before rifling for a bra that ten-year-old me would be oh so deeply disappointed in — "I waited 14 years to finally need a bra and now you’re out here wearing this?"
Needless to say, my undergarments need an overhaul. It might just be me, but when I can’t find a clean pair of those postpartum rags and I’m forced to wear another ill-fitting reject, my entire day can be a wash. I shift uncomfortably while working, I curse my wedgie in pilates, I catch sight of my tattered bra strap sticking out in the bathroom and by the time I get home, I’m ready to rip everything off and find a nudist community to join.
My point is, what we wear under there matters. For your confidence, your comfort and your calm.
Now, there’s no choice more personal than our knickers or jocks, but these beauties from the intimates experts at Myer are the cream of the crop (speaking of, check out number six for a seriously comfy crop).
