Apart from the extended weekend, the best thing about Easter is all the chocolate goodies – except of course if you can’t (or are choosing not to) eat chocolate. Then, it’s basically torture.
But as the saying goes (kind of) ‘If you can’t join ’em, wear ’em’. We’ve rounded up our 10 favourite chocolate-scented or coloured beauty products to treat yourself with instead.
1. Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette
Top of many people’s list is the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette ($78). Not only is is a versatile palette of delicious chocolate, nude and pink shades but the minute you open the tin, you’re hit with the scent of a smooth, fresh bar of chocolate. There’s a mix of matte and shimmer shadows each pigmented with antioxidant-rich cocoa powder. Yum.
2. Oh Deer Sugar Chocolate Bunny Soap.
Keep this one out of the kitchen, because it’s so realistic you’re bound to be tempted to have a little nibble. Vegan and hand-crafted, these Oh Deer Sugar Chocolate Bunny Soaps ($22) couldn’t be any more appropriate for Easter. Lather yourself up in chocolate-y goodness and enjoy super soft skin.
3. Lush Golden Egg Bath Bomb Melt.
The Lush Golden Egg Bath Bomb Melt ($8.95) is glittery, golden, and inspired by chocolate cream eggs – what more could you want? It’s made with fair trade organic Colombian Peace Village cocoa butter. It carries my favourite Honey I Washed the Kids fragrance, too.
4. Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturiser Cocoa Glow.
Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturiser Cocoa Glow ($9.99) is seriously good. The spray top translates to even application, the formula is silky and hydrating and it smells like delicious cocoa. Winner.
5. Anatomicals 100% not Chanel but cocoa all the same body cleanser.
This cleanser ($8.95) is creamy, deliciously-scented and looks damn good on your bathroom shelf – or Insta flatlay.
6. Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquid Lipstick.
The closest thing to eating chocolate? Wearing it on your lips. The collection of Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquid Lipstick ($33) takes the already fab liquid lipstick range to a whole new level. The long-lasting formula is pigmented with the added bonus of a strong but not offensive chocolate scent.
7. Lush Chocolate Lip Scrub, $9.95.
When I say this is good enough to eat, I’m not exaggerating. This sugary scrub is packed with dark chocolate, cocoa absolute, cocoa powder and tangerine and sweet orange oils and tastes as delicious as it sounds (I may have sampled some by accident). It’s limited edition for Easter, so snap up a tub or three.
8. Frank Body Cacao Coffee Scrub, $18.95
Your skin wants chocolate too and this scrub delivers it in spades. The exfoliator combines roasted and ground coffee beans, organic cacao extract, cold pressed sweet almond and macadamia oils to scrub away dry, flaky skin leaving it soft and hydrated.
9. Palmer's Skin Perfecting Ultra Hydrating Serum, $24.99
Not only does this have all the chocolate goodness that Palmer's is known for, the brand's new serum also features encapsulated retinol (or Vitamin A) which is a miracle-worker when it comes to fighting signs of ageing. A must-have ingredient in your skincare regimen, it's never been this affordable before.
10. Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick.
The Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in 'Bark' ($45) is a make-up bag essential all year round. The slightly shimmery dark brown chocolate colour is a cheat's way to a soft brown smokey eye - and it won't budge for eight hours.
