The $32 serum that’s giving luxury brands a run for their money.

If you're a dame with a face, chances are you're quite keen on affordable skincare products that rival the spendy stuff. (See: current financial crisis). Yes?

Well, do we have something for you!? (We do).

In a recent episode of the You Beauty podcast, beauty wizards Leigh Campbell and Kelly McCarren discussed their favourite spendys and saveys of the week (always juicy), as well as dishing out products in their pervy 'Shop My Stash' segment.

And our friend Kelly mentioned one particular product she's just rediscovered, after a year of it chilling in her beauty cabinet.

Watch: You know what else we do on You Beauty? Try an awful load of fun beauty hacks. Here's Leigh trying the viral 'diamond lip' trend. Post continues below.

The serum! Tell us about the serum.

Oh! How rude of me.

It's the lovely L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Filler Hyaluronic Acid Anti Wrinkle Serum. Have we tried it? You should.

Kelly said, "The other day we spoke about 'skin flooding' on 'Spotlight', and basically, dermal clinician Jayde Taylor was dissing a lot of products." (Here are the cult products she said aren't worth the hype).

"And I was like, 'Oh my god, well what products do you like?' And she spoke about the L'Oréal Paris Revitalift Hyaluronic Acid Anti Wrinkle Serum."

"I'd had it for a year and put it somewhere and was like, 'Oh I can't be bothered trying it. I want to try this, like, really fancy one, or this one from a brand I've never heard of before..."

Listen: Prefer to get your ears around the episode? That's cool. Post continues below.

"Obviously after Jayde said to try it, out it came – and my goodness. I'm so glad I shopped my stash because it is so good. It's so plumping and so hydrating, and you can use it morning and night. It is a fantastic hydrating product."

At $55, it isn't necessarily 'cheap', but you can usually pick it up for $32 at Chemist Warehouse. In fact, at the time of writing, it's half-price at $27.49.

We love to see it.

In her interview with Kelly, Jayde said, "I was absolutely blown away by L'Oréal's research and their development. And that's really important to me. I've been using their 1.5% Pure Hyaluronic Acid for maybe a year and a half."

And if it's good enough for a dermal clinician, it's good enough for us!

Another brand she recommended, and was "absolutely blown away" with? Olay.

"When you do a study, you need to really have a minimum of 50 participants to be taken seriously," she said.

"They had 3,600. I was shocked. A lot of their ingredients are patented, so you can't get them anywhere else. So I think Olay is quite underrated."

So, there you have it! If you're looking for a new hydrating serum and want something affordable without compromising on quality, give affordable brands like L'Oréal a whirl.

If you're looking for other options, you also can't go wrong with The Ordinary Supersize Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, $25.20 or QV Face Hydrate & Renew Serum, $18.50.

While you're here, here are 12 of the best hydrating serums that aren't just hyaluronic acid.
